My hike through Mistico Hanging Bridges was absolutely phenomenal. It was the highlight of my trip. The service and employees there were outstandingly courteous. There is a nicely cleaned and smelling bathroom right outside of the park. There is no bathroom along the trail so use the one outside of the park before starting your journey.
This park was like walking through a Harry Potter movie with all of the twists, turns, trees, flowers, hikes, waterfalls, and of course, bridges. You will want to take tons of photos.
The hike was pleasant with some high and low parts. For the most part, if you are in physical shape you will be able to complete this within 2 or 2.5 hours.
I chose to forgo a guide and took my own journey. As I made my way to the first hanging bridge, I didn't realize how mesmerizing it would be. I almost turned around because it was suspended, but this nice couple from Colorado took me under their wings and we completed the path through the park.
The bridges are well cared for and safe. Only a dozen or so people are allowed on at a time. There is no jumping or any horseplay. The venue has been open for 16 years.
We passed several tour groups and we heard the guide pointing out wildlife that his trained eye could see - woodpeckers, snakes, spiders, etc.
There is an on-site restaurant outside of the park if you get hungry and the views are absolutely divine. If you are with someone who is in a wheelchair or has a difficult time walking, this activity is not for you.
Please don't pass this up if you are physically able to take the hikes. You won't be disappointed!
