What a pleasant surprise!! I was not sure what to expect - being an American I am used to your cooker cutter, corporate hotels, so I went into this hotel not knowing what to expect. And it exceeded my expectations. We split our time in Costa Rica between here and the pacific side, and this far was the highlight of the trip.
The staff is beyond friendly! The grounds are just beautiful, clean, lush, tropical. The hot springs are exactly what you need after a long day of sigh seeing or first thing in the morning (when your kid wakes up at 5:30am - you hit the hot springs!). The food was decent. B+. We did eat all breakfasts and 2 dinners there because we were too tired at the end of the day to venture back out. The farm and little play area are great for people with kids. The cottage was very large, loved the bathroom, shower and shampoo. Suggestion would be to have more hooks in the bathroom or even outside so you can hang wet items to dry.

We said if we go back to Costa Rica we are definitely coming back here!

El Silencio del Campo exceeded our expectations! We expected it to be a bit rustic but actually it was a bit more upscale! We especially loved that the hotsprings were private (for hotel guests only). There was no need to visit a bigger resort to use their springs. We absolutely loved everything about this hotel, from the refreshing drink at check-in, to the adorable farm, the super-clean and upscale villa, the private hot springs, the sounds of nature in the morning, the delicious chifrito at the bar, the friendly service, and of course the incredible view of the volcano! When we return to Costa Rica we will definitely stay at El Silencio Del Campo. My family of four (including two teen girls) were extremely comfortable and we all agree that this property was a highlight of our vacation. An extra nice touch were the shampoo, conditioner and bug repellent lotion that were provided. Book this hotel! You will not be disappointed!

From friendly staff to beautiful landscaping this hotel is wonderful. We loved our clean spacious individual cabin. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent. The thermal hot spring pools were warm and delightfully designed with beautiful flora and fauna all around. Could not have asked for a better experience.
