To start with, the grounds are gorgeous, immaculately kept by the groundskeepers.
The hot springs are plentiful with varying temperatures and extremely clean. The resort is spacious with ample privacy while also feeling intimate and friendly.
The staff are incredible. In particular, Denzel, Alejandro and Jordan went out of their way with their hospitality. They were so friendly and attentive while also patient with me practicing my Español! The housekeepers were also great.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable.
The location of the resort is great being both close to downtown La Fortuna and La Fortuna Waterfall as well as Mistico Bridges.
Prior to our stay I was concerned that the resort seeming very family friendly would feel crowded with families and young children. This wasn’t the case at all even though I think the resort was fully booked. Nothing ever felt crowded at all. There are so many hot springs and spots to lounge that there is a great amount of privacy if you choose. On our second day the Volcano came into full view and it was spectacular. From the main pool and hot spring area we had a perfect view.
I highly recommend Volcano Lodge and would stay here again. Extremely good value for a lovely luxurious resort.

Excellent resort. The private jacuzzi was incredible with views of arenal volcano! The wildlife was incredible, lots of birds. The thermal springs were fab too. In the restaurant, shout out to Denzel for being such a great waiter! Only negative, the WiFi was a bit patchy in the room but not a problem for us. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and an excellent intro to Costa Rica (:

We didn’t want to leave! Beautiful views, well maintained grounds and heaps of activities. The happy hour at the thermal springs was amazing. We had our own private thermal spa which was great and cleaned regularly. Great breakfast choices, Alejandro at Sura was fantastic! We wished we stayed longer
