Stadthuys now house this Museum. Exhibits showcase the history of this city with weapons, attire, musical instruments, porcelain, cookware, stamps, paintings and artifacts from the Malacca Sultanate to the colonial era until independence. There is also a special section featuring Admiral Cheng Ho. The museum is a bit run down. It was still interesting and worth a few hours browsing.

You can walk the museum in about 40 minutes . The facility does not compare well with the standard that one would expect anywhere in Europe however the exhibits provide a glimpse into the history of the region. The exhibits include the usual collections of weapons ,crockery , paintings and period attire. One of the most interesting was the full sized model of a traditional Malay wooden house.

It is World Heritage City since 2008 and of course worth it to visit.

This city is so big area. Better you stay around 2-3 nights here to explore around.
