Nice area to walk an easy trail. The lake is very nice. I could just spend all day sitting in one of the swings watching the lake. Can be a little crowded in the summertime.

Excellent hike around a lake with several small water runs and a covered bridge. Facility also has picnic area, restrooms, and a few vending machines for drinks. No admission charge. Fishing is allowed for seniors and kids with a day permit that can be purchased for a small fee.

The beauty the stillness of this nature trails are just soul inspiring. This place can renew you from the darkest place that you may be in right now. What you see what you navigate thru makes you understand why you have to climb a mountain to get to better days. You will take picture after picture and still not get the same picture that you just took before. If you love trails, nature, and just being one with nature. If you like just breathing in and just taking that exhale that the mountain off your shoulders this is the place. It is also for celebrating as well with a picnic area too. Plenty of parking and exploring available young and old. The bridge is the biggest thing out there that kids like to walk across as well. This is for everyone!

I've been to the Madison County Nature Trail a number of times over the past 30 years or so, and it's always a pleasure. Unspoiled nature, more than one (relatively) clearly marked paths to take, no crowds, unless you've chosen a Scout or club outing. It's a highlight of Huntsville's charms.
