My Wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom. The weather was chilly but the room had a small electric heater and a hot water bottle was put into the bed each night. The food was quite good but the service could be a problem at times. If you have a mobility problem then be aware that the hotel extends down the hillside and many of the rooms involve quite a lot of steps. Also there is quite a climb from the hotel up to road level.

A bit of an oasis in a town that is now looking worn and shabby. However this is not the ideal hotel for the elderly - too many slopes, steps to climb even to get to the rooms. It definitely needs a bigger bar. The present one can barely hold about 7-8 customers. Staff were attentive. Food good.

Enter Darjeeling and one tends to get disappointed with the look of the place. The congestion and dilipidated buildings is a Darjeeling far from what the pictures show us. And the only breadth of fresh air was the resort where we stayed - Mayfair Hotel. The approach to the place is a bit congested but one is in for a pleasant surprise when the gates open. Inside you will find a beautiful, colorful set of lovely cottages with interesting garden features that is a feast to the eyes. The rooms are set in oriental style and very neat and proper with good facilities. Special mention to the buffet breakfast and dinner which had a good spread of south and North Indian cuisine. Extremely delicious and great in the palette. Hospitality of the restaurant staff and hotel staff was great. They were at our service at the first call. Arrangement of sightseeing and other travel was efficiently done. Would suggest Mayfair to anyone looking for a neat, classy and beautiful place to spend their holiday.
