Was recommended this restaurant by family members.

The various fish dishes we had were very tasty. We sat upstairs and was quiet so we had full attention of the waiters.

I would come back again. The food was tasty and not overly expensive. Good cor social gatherings.

This place has been on my wishlist forever, and I finally got the chance to visit it with a friend. So, we went there on a quiet Wednesday evening, well nothing is quiet in Mumbai - but the restaurant was quite so, despite being on a very busy road. The place is easy to locate, right on the main road near J W Marriott. The facade is quite fancy and black, and so is the interior - fit for a proper fine dine restaurant. Even the colour scheme inside the restaurant is quite dark - which adds a distinct personality to the place, whilst capturing the remnant essence of what this place started out as - a lunch home. The tables are properly spaced out and the seating are quite comfortable. The service is also quite good, far better than the of a lunch home, but there's a room for improvement for a fine dine restaurant. The waiters and attendants were courteous and pleasant.

On my plate:

Solkadi - I have a lot of bias for solkadi because I simply love it. But the solkadi that they serve here is probably the closest to the best that I've tried - I simply loved it.

Ghee roast chicken with appam - Is heard a lot about the south Indian style ghee roast chicken they serve at this place. And I was not at all disappointed - it was delectable. It was spicy, a bit tangy, and had a rich flavour of ghee. Even the chicken was perfectly cooked and wasn't at all chewy or extremely soft. The appam was also great, soft and a tad bit thick in the centre and thin and crispy towards the periphery, and it did tast fabulous - especially with the chicken.

caramel custard - although not the best caramel custard, it was still very good. The custard was quite creamy, more so than needed. I'd have loved it if it were a little less creamy. The caramel served with the custard was super nevertheless - and it compensated the shortcomings of the custard.

Visited the place on 10th March 2018 at 8 PM. It was my repeat visit with high expectations.

I must say that the place has slipped down a lot in quality and doesn't quite live up to its brand name.

We ordered crab soup, which was OK. Next we ordered crab curry and steamed rice, which was good. The disappointment came in the fried Bombay Duck, which was stale and smelly. The observation was brought to the notice of the restaurant manager. Similarly, the seafood biriyani was not perfectly fresh.

Overall, the place was a big disappointment.

Please check if the food is fresh and not stale before you dig into it.

Mahesh Lunch Home ♥️

Mahesh Lunch Home, This Restaurant Is Located In Juhu, Sharing Lanes With JW Marriott And Juhu Hotels

Perfect Place For Family and Sea Food Lovers♥️, Had Been Here For Formal Friday For Lunch With Friends, Since They Are Sea Food Lovers, So Decided To Visit This Restaurant

When We Entered This Restaurant, We Found That Mahesh Lunch Home is going Under Some Crab And Wine Festival, For which they were Serving Special Menu Full Of Crabs Crabs

So In Lunch We Had Boneless Crab Corridor, Crab Nihari In Starters, along With Italian Kiss and Baby Love In Mocktails, Which Was Fantastic

In Mains We Ordered Crab Bhurji Pav and Takatak Crab Along With Neer Dosa and Associated Indian Breads And Some Beverages And Khulfi To End Our Lunch On Perfect Note

It’s not the same anymore
Called for Surmai fish fry , was excellent both on taste and quantity
But the prawn Vijaywada was a big let down with tasteless and rubbery prawns
Any mention to the supervisor was met with stony stare , they could not care less , the transaction has been done , we will get our payment and the client may not come again , but that’s fine , seems to be the attitude now. Well , Mahesh Lunch Home has lost a customer
