My girlfriend and myself had a horrible start upon arriving in New Delhi. The hotel we had initially booked (half a year prior to arriving) had took us they were overbooked upon arrive. Not the end of the world, found some wifi and booked another one and went to that, only to find out that we had again somehow been overbooked since booking about 30 minutes prior... This happened 3 times again after, not what you want after travelling for over 24 hours trying to navigate the maze of New Delhi. Eventually we stumbled upon Veena & Vinay's homestay online which turned out to honestly be a gift from heaven! From our first phone call to enquire on availability through to our arrival, the communication was great. All our questions were answered and we were showered with helpful information on how to get to Chataeu 39.
On arrival, we were greeted by the nicest couple you will ever meet who practically adopted us after our stressful day and did everything they could, from cooking us dinner to providing us with all the beer we needed to help de-stress. On top of that, the beds were extremely comfy, the shower worked perfectly, and the whole place was immaculate!
Because we booked at the last second, we were only able to stay for one out of the two nights we needed until our next flight as someone else had reserved for the next day. However, Veena and Vinay found us accommodation nearby for our next night and welcomed us back round to their place at any time for breakfast/dinner, to chat, to store luggage and everything else we could have needed.
I can't thank these two enough for saving our New Delhi trip and, in all honesty, I'm glad I had to waste my first day panicking because no other accommodations were committing to their bookings because in the end our stay could not have been any more perfect :)
We recently stayed for two nights with Vinay and Veena at their lovely homestay.
We could have asked for no more, from the great food, welcoming hospitality, and the knowledgeable and amusing conversation. The Oberoi complex is very peaceful and well maintained, just perfect after a day in crazy Delhi!.The metro station is just a 5 minute walk from the property which gives access to all the main sites and attractions This place is all you could wish for when booking a homestay. Thank you for a great stay. Dan & Suzie Tyler
At the end of our journey in India we arrived at Mr. and Mrs. Bammi's apartment and felt immediately like at home! The Bammis are perfect hosts with a warm and honest heart, well-read, talkative and with a big cultural interest thanks to which they gave us lots of great inputs for our stay.
The room with attached bathroom is clean, quiet and located in a very comfortable and safe area. The metro station is in walkable distance.
A highly recommended place!
We chose a home stay for our first trip to India in order to get some local insight and recommendations and our hosts Veena and Vinay could not have been more helpful throughout our 3 night stay. There were many ways in which they helped us explore Delhi and even aided us with onward travel arrangements; the closeness of the metro station was also a real bonus for getting around. We also had a lot of laughs and fun with them and they made our time in Delhi really special.
Our room was equipped with everything we needed and there was a choice of either breakfast or lunch (in both European and Indian cuisine) and all meals were delicious. We have no hesitation in recommending them to either seasoned travellers or first time visitors to India.
It was a short but a lovely stay. Both uncle and aunty were very warm, friendly and full of anecdotes. They really made us feel comfortable and at home. Rooms and the view from the room is quiet pleasing to the eye and you must not be shocked to find a peacock waking you up at your window in the morning. But, nevertheless it's the people which make your stay quite an unforgettable one.
