A nice place to visit to see some works in science done in 'baba adam ke zamaney mein' and perhaps a bit more.

That's it!
It's a place stalled in period!
Wonder how many children the 'National Science Centre' Delhi, has motivated to take up science as a subject, generate awe and interest or simple learning and understanding of the word 'science' and has been helpful in solving many of their questions and generate day today learning?!?
It's all science around them, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and all together!
Ask a child how a bulb lights, he/his parents/even perhaps teachers, may or may not have the answer!!! So most of them grow in deep ignorance.

If put in Hindi, science is such a 'haowah' for most of the children who are made to learn so in boring classroom sitting on their drab desks, without audio-video presentations, live demonstrations wherever possible and science labs, right from Kindergarten/Nursery school.

Have seen queues of school children coming with equally (un)encouraging or half baked knowledge teachers and visiting the place as a picnic.

The place needs to generate so much interest in the children so that the generations of skill is created and know how in the science subject is generated to match the present levels of global advancement in scientific learning.
The Centre needs more of simulations, theaters that need to move from 3D effects to 7D, practice areas, rooms full of latest computers etc.,to try, make mistakes, score, get rewarded and learn, to the tune and perhaps more advanced than 'EPCOT' of Walt Disney World Resort, Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral Florida etc., and more inputs from BARC, ISRO, etc.
Today's generation needs better know-how on Agriculture, Food processing, Forestry, Environment, Telecommunication, Medical, Textiles, Architecture, Design in all sectors, Roads, town planning, Garbage disposal, Civic sense, Harnessing Solar potentials etc., etc., etc.......,and how to innovate and manufacture.

They need to learn about present locomotives vis-a vis time! Hence need to be aware of distance and travel, through latest means, be it about train travelling that surpass speed of 350 km/per hr on rail, or glide thru magnetic technology like 'Maglev' levitation that surpasses a speed of 603 km/per hr., or so, or production of hybrid crafts that move on surface, water, air and space!

Time to make the children aware about Submarines insides, Aviation sector, flight and space technologies etc.
A child who joins kindergarten or even younger, needs to come here and try his hands at various simulations and get the feel of science around them. He should get so curious after visiting the centre that if he is full of questions before visiting the Centre, needs to go back happy with lot of his questions answered.
Why should the children of present times wait till their tenth grade to decide on the subjects they want to study? Such learning centres and many more need to be there all over India to bring out the talents in the children of today who in turn build the nation.
The National Science Centre needs to invest on being a Centre showcasing the past, present and future in realistic sense, real-time!

Its a well planned centre. Worth visiting it especially with children who have scientific flair.
But the staff here is very bad and I could find any body in the whole building who can explain what it is. Some of the exhibits are damaged and left as it is, You can see security guard in each hall who will say o to any thing

We spent about 2 1/2 or three hours here one afternoon and it was surprisingly enjoyable. The museum is divided into several different parts with a natural history section a science section history section. There is also a section on the theory of water and this relationship to the deli water system. It was filled with lots of students, young students and college age students. My grandchildren really like this place and I enjoyed it also. There are interactive part where you can stand on things, sit on things, throw things and in general have a good time.
I really like going here and would recommend that you spend a couple of hours here, especially if you have kids. It also has a food court downstairs and restrooms. It was a little bit difficult to get a rickshaw here so maybe plan ahead on your transportation needs. We had to walked several blocks away to get a taxi or rickshaw.
