Its a beautiful place with lawns on both sides of Rajpath. Its a must visit at night time but you can visit during the day too depending on the weather. You can bring home cooked food and bedsheet to sit over green grass and enjoy your family picnic. People bring bat and ball, or badminton rackets and shuttlecock or football to play before or after enjoying their dinner. One can enjoy ice cream, paan, bhel puri, paani puri, chips, tea, or papad sold by hawkers. There are toy car rides for kids and you can even see bioscope there that will remind you for old times.

It is one of the crowns for the legacy called India. Avoiding history of it, I will say if you are in delhi, and need a place to spend a quality time with your friends and family, India gate is the best place.

If u r planning to visit this place, it should be in the night. One it is illuminated in tri-colour which makes it look good and u have many families doing picnic there. Parking is a bit of a problem but if u ask cops they will guide you where to park. Nice place to njoy a night with family, though u will see many young couple there.

A gate to seperate old Delhi from new one when India was settled by GB. A monument somehow like Arc De Triumph in Paris and other entrances in other cities such as Madrid and Moscow. It has beautiful park-like surrounding with enough space to park the car.
