Lovely place & Staff. Wish I was here right now, sipping on a cocktail and watching the local kids fishing with string and listening to reggae. But alas I am not. I sit at my desk and write a review in order to live vicariously through my keyboard. Had a few, ok 1 horrendous meal upon arriving in Bocas, just because the view is good, does not mean the food will be. El Ultimo Refugio came highly recomended (take note....ASK people, if your man doesn't like to ask for directions than do so yourself) it is worth it. The fish was so fresh and reasonably priced. 7 drinks, 3 appetizers and 2 entrees for 3 people and it was just $100. Can't beat it. When it got busy food seemed to take a little longer but guess what, that is everywhere. Take your damn time with that view in front of you. Fresh/Good food deserves a little more TLC. This was the perfect ending to an already perfect week.

Nice set up with good food and drinks options. Food was good and service was pleasant . The live entertainment was ...questionable.

Friendly and welcoming service. The "camarones al curry" were simply deeeeliiciiooous. Tuna fish also. "Arroz con coco" a new experience for your palate.
Pulpo as starter is something you have to try. The only objection is that they assumed that our 13 year old had no taste and they served his fish with no sauce at all. We asked them, and they brought soya sauce. Pity,!!

The staff is bilingual and extremely friendly. The chef is incredible. The menu changes daily which in my opinion is a really good thing because it forced me to try new things. If it didn't I'd have ordered the pork risotto every night. We were tipped off to El Ultimo Refuge by a local dive shop. Guy said that's where he'd take his family if they were there. We were so very pleased. Atmosphere was excellent.

Ultimo Refugio was our last dinner in Bocas and it did not disappoint. The location is wonderful, staff is friendly, delicious cocktails and food. Best meal in town.
