We spent a week at the villa and found it very comfortable for a family of 4 (kids aged 11 and 12). There is plenty of space to relax on the balcony and terrace area and also downstairs in the very spacious and sheltered pool area.
We easy adapted to the more chilled pace of life on Ko lanta. The villa is located about 5 mins walk from a rocky beach but walk another 5-10 mins along the beach and you are at a perfect swimming area on long beach. The "town" with restaurants, ATM, medical centre (excellent service) and shops is 5 -10 mins walk away.
Our girls made good use of the pool and I found it great for a refreshing dip stet the walk back from the beach.
Nick and his wife were very helpful in organising transfers, car hire (worth it to explore the island for a few days) and in answering our questions.
We had a great time and only wished we could have stayed longer

We were 5 people comfortably housed at Amintra 1. Great location (about 10 minute walk to the nice stretch of beach, very close to great restos), super comfortable accomodations, excellent service and affordability.

There is no TV. That says it all. A property without a TV is all about fun, relaxation, connection. Also, there is no tub. Why would you need a tub when you have a private pool and a beach and the warm rain to soak in all day long? The house is exquisitely designed to maximize the best aspects of a Koh Lanta vacation.
I stayed at Amintra for four days during the low season. The house is in outstanding shape -- everything is spotless. It is a luxury house, with upgraded tiles, faucets, lighting etc. The ambiance of the house at night is fantastic -- between the rich decor, the well-selected furniture and the soft ceiling lights. You can cook meals, lounge around in the living room, sit on the balcony for hours. It's close to the beach, and surrounded by quiet neighbours (there is a bar further down the street that played live music at times though). Nick is super helpful -- he'll organize your transportation to and from the Krabi airport so you don't have to worry about anything. There's good dining within walking distance, but a quick hop on the tuk tuk or the insanely-low-priced scooters for rent will take you pretty much anywhere on the island.

Great house close to the beach and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay, the hosts Nick and Sita are very helpful.
