“Excellent villa in beautiful & convenient location”

This villa is ideal for a small family looking for a break from the heavy crowds that descend upon much of Thailand in high season but in a stunning location with a short walk to the beach and great amenities all around.

Malee Seaview itself is a stylish development with a number of villas all of which offer a good degree of privacy. This particular villa is one of the furthest from the beach but it's still only a two minute walk. Despite having a pool that we share with the neighboring villa (which wasn't occupied while we were there), we loved spending mornings and evenings on Long Beach (Prae Ae) which is one of the best beaches on the island.

It was never too crowded and the few bars and restaurants at the south end of the beach offer a good choice of cocktails, cheap grub and higher end options. I'd also recommend just walking up to the northern end of the beach where there are even fewer people but the water is even better for swimming.

We used it as a base to explore the south of Lanta too; we found that the further south you go, the more beautiful and unspoilt the island becomes. For just 500 baht or so, you should be able to get a taxi down to the south (past Klong Nin) where you will find yourself almost alone on idyllic beaches and with the backdrop of virgin rainforest and Lanta National Park.

Finally, the rental is professionally run by Gilles, the owner and his friends based locally. Little issues we had with the pool and one air con unit were quickly dealt with and fixed by the campus staff. It's well worth a visit, not least as we found the villa represented good value for money particularly when compared with many of the more expensive hotel options on the island.

Thanks Gilles for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

“Great location, very nice house”
Reviewed 1 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

The villa is located at the very south of Long Beach which is my favorite beach on Koh Lanta. It is in a community of around 20 other villas and is in a quiet location with direct beach access (you just have to walk through the property to the other side)

The actual beach where you are is a bit rocky but you can easily walk 5 minutes north up the beach to a great area. You're also with a 3 minute walk to a bunch of restaurants, a 711 and taxis.

The house itself is very nice, we had 6 adults and two young children (2 and 6) staying there and it was perfect with plenty of room. The villa has a lot of nice homey features like a dvd collection, books, and a full kitchen with plates, cups, blender, coffee maker, everything you'd need.

We had the entire shared pool area to ourselves as the owner of that property wasn't there and I've heard it is usually empty as they don't rent it out when they aren't in town.

Wifi worked great the entire time we were there.

The only downsides was the downstairs rooms, especially the one near the kitchen has the sound of the water pump I believe, that is a bit distracting when you sleep but it wasn't a big deal.

We got our full deposit back on the date promised without any issues. Electricity was extra and was paid for in cash before we left. In total it was around 2,000 baht ($66US) for a 10 night stay.

Overall I would recommend this villa to families, couples, and friends. I had a great time and would stay there again.

“Awesome villa with great access to beach and restaurants”
Reviewed 3 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We had a wonderful time at the villa in February. It's located in a nice residential community that's quiet and has great beach access. The house's furnishings were great - sufficient shelves in the secondary bedrooms, great closet in the master bedroom. The kitchen was functional and bathrooms great! While we were at the house, we actually spent most of our time outside by the saltwater pool and cabana.

Near the entrance to Malee Seaview are fruit stands, 7-Eleven, many restaurants and a laundry service provider. There are many beach front restaurants just next door and easily accessible via the beach path. There are always tuk tuks at the entrance ready to give a ride.

Maureen was a great liaison for the villa - very responsive, friendly and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed our stay very much and only wish we could have stayed longer!

“Great location to explore the island”

This house is really big and very comfortable, the pool outside is shared with your neighbour on one side only but is large enough with the surrounding outdoor space and shade to not be in each other's pockets. We were greeted by Mo who went through the logistics of the house and gave us a few tips on where to go during our stay and the house was cleaned weekly. I've added a few notes to the book we were given to make it a bit more detailed on the trips and restaurants we visited and liked - hope this is ok! You can make food is you want to easily (although we didn't, lazy bones! Too much great food to choose from!) And if you fancy a chillout day if the weather isn't great then there are films in the house to choose from or board games to for something more interactive.
Wi-fi access for us in the house wasn't always dependable but pratically every bar and restaurant locally has wifi so you can access it easily should you wish to.
Lanta is very laid back and very easy to get around to see the sites. The beaches are great, there are loads to choose from and each has their own character. The island is also very popular with families so it was nice to have children to play with our little 3 year old. Long beach is a very short walk away, just a minute's walk off the complex and has loads of beach bars to explore and watch the sun set.
Overall we had a lovely 3 week holiday and we felt safe in the house. We chose a house rather than hotel for our first break away as I wanted our little one to feel as comfortable as possible in a new place.

Management Response
31 Jan 2015
Thanks for the feedback about the WiFi. The Thai telecom company came around and fixed it - it seems to be working fine now. This can happen from time to time when they work on the street cabinet or pull new cables. The best is to let Maureen and Malee Seaview management know that something is wrong so that they can follow up with the telecom company.
