“Privacy in paradise”
Reviewed 20 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

The Levels is a little bit of privacy on the gorgeous island of Koh Lanta. There is plenty of space in this property - the upstairs terrace is perfect for relaxing in the shade and watching the sunset, and the area downstairs is great to relax for a spot of afternoon sun and a much needed dip in the pool.

The property is suffering a little with wear and tear in some of the outside areas but this did not affect the stay. We also had a hiccup with water when the property ran out but you have to accept that things in Thailand don't run as smoothly as in the UK. Once resolved (quickly) the rest of the stay was lovely.

The Levels is a 5 minute walk to the main strip where there are plenty of restaurants and mini marts to get what you need. And the beach is another few minutes from there.

If you like privacy, don't want to be overlooked, and a place with a sea view then I would recommend The Levels.

“Great location for family holidays”
Reviewed 5 February 2017 for a stay in January 2017

The villa is well located in a very quite (slightly uphill) area but within walking distance of most of what you need. We rent a motorbike but as we do have 2 kids below 2, also had to walk down to the beach, convenient store or restaurants. Everything was within 10 to max 15 minutes.

You can easily order some take away food from the super friendly Mushroom restaurant down the street, enjoy fresh bakery every morning from Faim de Loup or go a bit further to enjoy great restaurants like Red Snapper or Patty's secret garden.

The villa by itself is not super luxurious and some furniture might have to be changed (table on the terrace for instance) but is very pleasant. Ben the manager was reactive in following up with the minor issues we faced during our stay (a kettle to be replaced, electricity off for few hours).

We had a super nice stay in a great Thai island where you can enjoy good food, great beaches, amazing dive sites (we saw plenty of Ray Mantas at Hin Daeng and Hin Muang), relaxing massages and no sex tourism!!

Hi Nick, thanks very much for your review. Great to know you had such a lovely time. Very happy that Ben was so attentive - we love working with him. I will look into the furniture situation so that when you return in future, things should look a little more fresh.

I'm glad that nothing had a detrimental affect on your stay. Drop us a line when you want to come back!

Thanks again,

Chris and Gak

“Well-located, spacious and private - we had a great stay”

The house is spacious and nice and we really enjoyed our week there. We would definitely recommend this place to others, perhaps first and foremost small groups of mostly adults. Our kids also had a fantastic time, but the house is not entirely child friendly in that both the staircase and the outdoor terrace lack proper rails (we opted for not using the outdoor terrace much, and managed just fine).

The house is nicely furnished, functional and has a really good atmosphere - so it is a pleasure to spend time there. Bedrooms are nice and the beds very comfortable.

The nearby Relax bay beach was perfect for us, within a walkable distance or a short ride on a rented tuk tuk, and the location of the house is relatively convenient also for picking up supplies in Saladan.

Our main critizism would be that it could be cleaned more thoroughly - it had had a rather superficial cleaning prior to our arrival. The kitchen is good and mostly well equipped (we cooked dinner most nights) but could do with e.g. a couple of kitchen towels. The house has a couple of torches/lights that should kick in when there is a power cut (which happens ever so often on Lanta) but these did not seem to work very well. The living room sofa is also a bit past its prime, but that is a minor quibble.

Some things to be aware of (this is not intended as criticism, rather statement of fact):
- There are a lot of mosquitos in the garden, but then again this is the tropics, and i don't personally think poisoning the garden is a much better option...
- When there is a power cut you can't get water from the taps, since the water supply seems to depend on a pressure pump. This is mostly not a problem since power cuts tend to be short-ish, but can leave you finishing a shower with bottled water.

All in all, a great place, and could be perfect with a few fixes/attention to some detail.

Hi Jerker, thanks for your feedback. We are looking into the options and hope to make some of the recommended small improvements soon. Sorry that the cleanliness wasn't up to standard - we will work on that.

I'm very glad that nothing of note had a truly lasting negative impact on your stay and that you had such a great time and enjoyed Lanta so much.

Please contact us when you'd like to return!

Thanks again.

We stayed at The Levels for 5 nights and were pleasantly surprised by the standards of this property. Very clean and spacious, we received great views from the balcony and enjoyed the large private garden by the pool. The pool was also cleaned each morning which was a very big plus. Would definitely consider returning in the future. Also a big thanks to Ben as he was extremely helpful in tending to all of our needs.

“Lovely designer Villa - up in the tree tops!”
Reviewed 29 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

The Levels is a great location for a chill out for a couple or family

It is secluded and peaceful and what is clever is that it is designed so you can have the cooling breeze blowing through the house as lots of big doors/windows so you can enjoy open air living if you wish as you are up a height - literally in the tree-tops- so not overlooked at all and so peaceful. There are lovely views of the Andaman sea from here and down in the garden you will enjoy complete privacy and space.

Do be prepared for the track leading up to the villa being muddy and slippy during rainy times and make sure you have a torch if you are walking back at night.

It is very handy for the beaches - Relax bay resort is the nearest and also The Castaway resort is nice and by far has the most life in the quiet season when some of the hostelries are not open or a bit ghostly.

The people at the nearby Lanta resort have a Muay Thai gym if you are feeling energetic and they were most helpful re transfers and excursions but there are also many travel agents along the main road. Certainly if you are making your own way or travelling there by public transport - The Muay Thai gym is the most useful point of reference for The Levels.

Many thanks for a pleasant relaxing stay at your gorgeous villa.
