The name speaks for the place..it is literally solitude..we found it extremely difficult to approach the place as it took us more than hour to drive from munnar town...the approach roads are not good and the place completely secludes you from any kind of facilities..even the mobile phones do not catch network which could be a bit risky in case of emergency..the property is very well maintained, has a cozy bedroom and dining room (only on the first floor) and is surrounded with breathtaking view of the hills and spice plantation..The caretakers...Mr. Kalesan and his wife are extremely helpful and do a great job with hospitality...they prepared sumptuous meals and breakfast for us and made sure we were comfortable..out of the two floors (ground and first) only the first floor is worth the stay which also has unique balcony with a spectacular view of the hills...this place is not recommended for families travelling with small kids or for those who wish to explore and drive around munnar for sightseeing as it's not easily approachable. But I would advise this place to those who are really looking to relax and unwind and do not mind spending all their time in "solitude" and desire a peaceful getaway from the city.
We were looking to peace out and this wooden cottage is the exact place we could settle in...Amazing view..with waterfalls...mist...variety of trees and birds around...cozy place...very friendly caretaker...lovely home made food...tasty..veg as well as non veg...it wasnt enough..but since it was a short escape from bust schedules....we could spend just 2 night and a day...economical too....we will recommend friends..and we would love to go back again.....Thank you so much Manu...and Kaleshan sir.
