From the first day, when one of the animation team took it upon herself to welcome us and show us around the hotel when we looked a little lost, the staff treated us so well and were always friendly.

The facilities at the hotel were designed really well, especially the spa (the relaxation room was really well thought out and worth the small extra cost) and the bowling alley was a perfect way to end the evening, the barman working there quickly learnt our habbits and would kindly have the same alley and two coffees ready as soon as we appeared.

The food each evening had a wide choice to cater to most and included different local dishes to make the most of being in Croatia. The Stina wine selection was a real pleasure as we made our way through the range of wines through the week.

The bluesun resort itself had a number of clear water beaches which were absolutely stunning, with the restaurant borak being a personal favourite as a place to stop for lunch. Bol as a town was a simple 15 minute stroll away and had a large selection of restaurants and bars.

Getting to Brač was really easy too, lots of ferrys multiple times a day so don't let this put you off.

This was our first time in Croatia but after this experience we will be back!

The hotel is located in just a few steps from the promenade that leads from Bol city centre to the Zlatni Rat beach, both can be reached within a 10 minutes walk. The view of Hvar Island and the sea from the rooms is marvellous. The food is excellent and the service at the hotel restaurant is simply perfect, all our wishes were fulfilled quickly and with a smile. The reception is extremely helpful too, in general all the hotel staff are lovely people who really make you feel at home. Take some time for a massage at the spa, it is just pure relax for body and soul. And do use the discount coupons in your room for the beach restaurant and the wine cellar, they're more than worth it.

Mumsie and I stayed for a week here. Food was amazing, hot, great variety and something for everyone. We lounged around in the bathrobes provided. One day we even strolled to the beach in them and no one batted an eyelid. We thought about playing tennis and paddleboarding but too exhausting so we just watched instead!

Rooms were impeccable, the housekeeping staff work very hard.
indoor and outdoor pool super clean, lots of loungers.

Fab location, great views, lovely people, fab food, we would definitely return

Fannika on reception a super helpful friendly lady.

This hotel is one of the nicest on the island and could've been really great, but I'll skip to my disappointment before I cover the rest: We were staying on half board, so dinner was included. There's nothing in the hotel information to tell you but you have no choice but to buy beverages at dinner. We were told explicitly that "tap water is for all-inclusive guests only" and that we couldn't bring our own water. This is absolutely ridiculous (it's actually illegal in some parts of the EU) and it should be made clear that there's a surcharge associated with not choking your dinner down. In addition to this, we were made to feel very uncomfortable on a couple occasions because "the chief" sent staff members to tell us we weren't entitled to tap water (what?!?!).
As for the restaurant itself, the food is as good as can be expected given the number of guests. Great variety, very little repetition, lovely pizzas at dinner and lots of local dishes. Be careful at breakfast: the coffee is strong enough to fuel the ferry that got you to the island.
As for the rest of the hotel, service is almost faultless. Check in was quick and easy. We had a number of conversations with reception for advice and suggestions and they didn't hesitate to help us book reservations at a local restaurant. Most went out of their way to provide good service.
Our room was impeccably clean and housekeeping managed to keep us tidied while barely ever being seen.
The room itself was spacious and comfortable with a nice sized bathroom and sea views from the balcony.
A minor complaint is that you aren't allowed to iron; it's another paid service.
The location of the hotel is very convenient for visiting town (a stroll along a beautiful and well lit promenade) or going to the beach.
We did a day trip that saw us leave early one day so asked at reception the evening before if we could trade our breakfast for a packed lunch. They happily obliged and we were given a surplus of food to take with us the next day. Really excellent service.
Overall we had a good time but would be very hesitant to return considering the negative experiences in the dining room.
