I booked our accommodation 6mths prior to arrival and the week before received an email saying they could not accommodate us and we had to stay at a newly arranged hotel/apartment... My husband is almost 70 years of age, with a bad hip, and this new place was a 10 minute walk uphill.. Our floor was 5 flights up (no elevator)... NOT HAPPY !!! we did receive complimentary dinner for the stuff up..

The hotel is situated 10mins walk from Bol and 10 from Zlatni Rat Beach, both along a pine tree covered pedestrian promenade. Bol is full of restaurants and bars and the base for boat trips. The hotel staff are friendly, the rooms clean with plentiful towels and bedding changed frequently. We requested additional pillows and these appeared before evening. The breakfast buffet is as expected of holiday hotels in this price bracket, plentiful, always replaced but slightly repetitive. There is an egg station making fresh fried eggs and omelettes on request and there is plenty of fresh fruit. The public areas and pool area were very clean and the reception staff always helpful with a good grasp of English. We had no problems with pool beds but the hotel was either quite quiet due to being late September or lots of people were on the beach etc. Do purchase a padded beach mattress from one of the vendors on the promenade as it saves money on the beach and there are no mattresses on the pool beds. Additionally a nice point is that the hotel provide pool/beach towels for a small deposit that can be changed daily. The only niggle is the bedrooms, they are nice and clean but the bathrooms are tired with slightly eccentric shower fitments and the doors and corridors are noisy. I think this is due to the construction and you can hear people in rooms above talking if they are noisy and toilets flushing. It was ok for us as the hotel wasn't full but I'm not sure what it would be like at the height of summer.
All in all a rally nice friendly hotel that I would certainly recommend and visit again.

We stayed at the hotell for one week with our two kids and we would certainly recommend it. The hotell and rooms were clean and fresh, the food was good and the staff was fantastic, both in the restaurant with excellent service and a friendly and warm attitude, and the guys in the Carpe Diem (recreation) team that arranged a lot of fun activities especially for the kids.

The service at Borak was exemplary throughout our whole stay. The hotel meets every criteria for a four star hotel, but the last refurbishment was a long time ago and we felt the 90's vibe in the decor all though the hotel.

The hotel is placed in exactly the right place, in the middle between the village Bol and the famous Zlatni Rat beach, a 10 minute walk to both destinations.
