Owner description: Home to vivid sculptures of the Children's Crusade.

If you care anything at all about the history of America's struggle against racism, go walk across the bridge at the fountain. If you have time walk around and meditate on the sculptures, visit the Institute and 16th St Baptist Church. But if you have very little time, stand on that little bridge across the fountain and think about why it was conceived for foot washing.

This was a free exhibit with bronze statues that tell a story. A must see. 16th Street Baptist Church right on the corner where the four little girls were killed in the bombings in the 1960s.

What a great memorial to the civil rights movement. Love the route markers for the different marches that took place. Audio tour available via your phone which is great. The statues are very telling, sad and yet make an important statement that should never be forgotten.

My wife and friends were visiting from out-of-town and toured Kelly Ingram Park. The overall history was fascinating to learn. We recommend the self-downloaded audio to listen to the detail description of each station. We were awed by what we saw. Good place to visit.
