Jiayuguan is a well restored fort marking the edge of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty time, in an important place in the Hexi Corridor. It is reasonably picturesque and has a outer wall which you can climb up and walk around to take photos of the towers. It is a nice example of Ming architecture- not spectacular but nice nontheless for its historical significance.
