“Part of Kaiyuan temple ”
Review of Dongxi Tower

This pagoda is part of the Kaiyuan temple and there are 2 if them. The pagodas currently are used to store religious scriptures.

In the old days one of the towers (west tower) caught fire and hence you will see that it has discolored and looks old. The east tower is still in use and nicer to take pictures with.

If I'm not mistaken, this is one of the towers within the Kaiyuan Temple complex. It is quite old and one reason why buildings around this district are not allowed to be built high. This is a landmark in the skyline of the old city. Very nice piece of history

An old tower in town but interesting to look at and has some nice ornamentation. Not sure if it is closed all the time or just when I was there but it is quite old so it may be all the time.

the interesting historic figures on outside of each level of the tower are quite amazing. The faces and guestures are not pocker faces at all. Unfortunately couldn't go inside because those are too old.
