San Pedro de Atacama is a delightful town full of restaurants, markets, shops and tour expeditions. However, it is full of tourists most of the days and nights and so to return to our room at Takha Takha was a great refuge. It is down the long main street, Caracoles, but away from the noise and buzz and all the hostales that cater to young people. The pool is OK, refreshing on a hot summer's day, but not anything to do laps in. The property is quiet, though, even at night. Breakfast was satisfactory, but you have to ask for eggs, they won't volunteer them. The people at the front desk were helpful most days, but sometimes didn't show much interest in going out of their way. Service needs improvement. But again, Takha Takha is a good bet for those over 50!More
