The best hotel I have stayed in anywhere in the world, since the Oberoi in Bali ten years ago. The friendliness of the staff is such that you feel they are "family". There are no television sets in the bedrooms, no music constantly playing in the common areas. Where do you find that today? If you would like to try something different in the middle of the Atacama desert, the Alto Atacama is your place. Expensive, and worth every penny. Everything included, nothing to sign. The best!

We stayed 4 nights with and all inclusive package. The food, drinks and tours are magnificent and effortlessly arranged by the hotel staff. Even if only one couple is up for an activity it still goes.. We had a personal guide when we did hikes on our own. The trips and hikes are well thought out and give you an excellent overview of the area.
The food and drinks are excellent and service is efficient and unobtrusive.
The hotel is a little out of town which gives it the quiet secured feeling of an oasis. Regular shuttle transfer to town is available.
Highly recommended....

We had 3 full days and 2 half days here and loved it! The included excursions covered a wide range of activities with both guides and drivers being helpful and informative. The food and accommodation we're excellent! Highly recommended

The staff were wonderful from the guides, to the desk staff and the waiting staff! They all spoke several languages and were as accommodating as they could be.All the guides on the trips were extremely knowledgable. The excursions were all varied and amazingly interesting. At the geysers we were very lucky to have some vicuna come very close!! (Chose the 9 am trip not the sunrise one: everyone is on the sunrise on!) The only downside is that the menu is the same for both lunch and dinner. They did have a BBq lunch and BBq dinner which were different while we were there. There are plenty of choices on the menu and they were all very good. They served fresh raspberry juice which I loved. The wines were good as well. A previous fellow traveller had said this was the best part of their South American journey so we had to include it in our trip!! So glad we did!!

Very attentive and very accommodating staff. One can really relax and enjoy the quietness of the place. Love the fire place both outdoor and indoor. Tasted the best Pisco Sour in living memory too! Would love to come back!
