The Bad - The mismatched faucets leaked. The shower head sprayed every which way. The plastic toilet seat was a size or two larger than the toilet bowl, which caused the bolts that hold the seat in its place to break. The overhead light in the room worked only sporadically. And the glass panes were held in windows with putty that might well have needed replacing 30 years ago.
The Good - Talk about trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear; our sad little room was perhaps the cleanest we’d seen in Chile. The cleaning staff is excellent, as is reception. How the owners, who seemingly couldn’t care less about this place, could find such good staff is a mystery.
The Ugly - The rate per night was $90US.
‘Terrible’ would have been the appropriate rating for this place had it not been for the stellar staff.More
