We stayed here for 3 nights, 4 days in apartment 1101. Fortunately for us, the apartment had WiFi so there was no need to go to the common areas to check email, etc. We were traveling with 2 young children (2 and 4), so when searching for a place to stay, family friendly was #1 on the list and this place won. There are 2 different playgrounds for kids to enjoy. The pools and lagoon slowly decend into deeper water, so children can go in and just get their feet wet, or go in a little deeper with floaties or an adult. The sand on the private beach is also really nice...it's fine, no trash, and there's no shells (maybe a couple of rocks that kids manage to throw in). As others have mentioned, there are several sports you can do on the lagoon. My husband and 4 year old got on a kayak and had a blast (life vests are provided for that activity). Be warned that people "reserve" beach chairs by placing a towel on them and coming whenever they feel like it. There are signs that state that reserving is not allowed, but no one enforces it. So play the game, grab your beach towel, place it on the chair, then come back whenever you want. The apartment itself was perfect for us, mainly because of the kitchen and being able to cook our own meals. This isn't a hotel, so you will need to bring dish/hand soap, paper towels, napkins, etc. There's no where close to eat by; it's about 2.3 km to get to Av del Mar where there are some restaurants and a Lider is also close by. The view, is by far, amazing, but get ready for a dusty place...having the windows open and enjoying the breeze brings alot of sand into the apartment!

Brandnew complex, partially still under construction (area) and therefore some amenities not yet fully operational. Gardens well maintained and planted, huge own lagoon where you can cano, small own private beach and swimming pool. Nice walk over the long beach all the way to La Serena. Don't forget the sun screen!

I stopped into La Serena on my way down the coast of Chile. Had some difficulties finding the property as it is located in a complex with several residential buildings which lacked some signage. The apartment was clean and had fabulous views over an enormous swimming pool and the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately when I booked they stated that they had wifi, however forgot to mention that it was only in reception. As it was a serviced apartment I needed supplies and had to walk 20 mins into town to the nearest supermarket, no problem if you have a car. The location on the beach is lovely, however if you need anything to eat, drink or buy, there is nothing in the immediate area so you need at arrive prepared.

Very large pool can do multiple water sports, including kayak, sail, etc. Local beach connected to the pool. Apartments have great views of the pool and ocean. Sunsets are magnificent. Not enough beach chairs, they get reserved early in the day. Note that we are here in high season.
