One of the reasons I wanted to visit Battambang was for the Bamboo train, only to find out it was closed and now moved to a different location. It is terrible! Give the 5 dollars to a local NGO that need it instead of wasting it on this ride.

The original is closed but this newly built track provides a fun ride through the countryside. Not so peaceful but we really enjoyed sharing the experience with local families out for a bit of fun. Don’t expect a slow hand pumped experience this is a rough and ready motorised version but fun never the less

We went to see the new train near Wat Banan. It's made purely for tourists. New rails in concrete foundation, road along the track and petrol engines. Don't expect anything more than an unusual roller coaster, the bamboo train lost all of its authenticity after changing the location.

Having done the original bamboo train 7 years ago, this new version is a complete waste of time and money. You sit on the bamboo platform (the only original thing about the whole experience) only to sit through 15 minutes of barren farmland and construction sites. Once you’ve done one way you wait a further 15 minutes on a block of concrete (nothing around aside from one woman selling softdrinks) to go back the same way. I can strongly recommend skipping this attraction and spending your $5 on 10 delicious happy hour beers instead.

Isn’t going. They’ve dismantled it and are relocating. We were told somewhere near the mountain temple.
