This is a very interesting park to visit in São José dos Campos. Vicentina Aranha was the name of a hospital that was built in the 20's and it worked until 2004 with high walls around it, that did not allow anyone from outside to see the beauty of the trees around it. After some time closed, the city hall decided to open it to the public. The old buildings are still being renewed, with the help of donations. There is a nice little chapel in the back with mass on Sundays. Even though this is small park (only one block big), it is very useful for people who enjoy running. There are concerts on Sunday mornings, near to the bamboo area, a chess club and some cultural events as well.
