This hotel is top notch. I booked the deluxe room with a view and it didn't disappoint, the view of Copacabana beach was awesome. The room was clean, well set out. The bed was so comfortable. Wifi was good & the room had a good size safe (would fit a laptop). My travel converter power plug didn't fit the socket, so reception gave me one to use. reception were polite and helpful giving information and English speaking was good. Breakfast offered a great choice & room service was also easy. It was close to restaurants on the beach front for dinner at night, and we felt safe. The only thing I wished for was a kettle in the room for a cup of tea at night, its hard to break old habits even on holiday.

We would not have chosen this hotel, but our booking agent agent said it was a great hotel on Copacabana Beach. It was In Fact at the furthest end of Copacabana. We were also booked into a room at the back of the hotel, with no view except some old buildings directly across the narrow street, behind the hotel. We had to pay extra to move to a room with a view over the ocean. The room was small, clean and fresh, but ok. Told not to drink water in room, but no complimentary water. Not sure why some hotels in South America does this, if the water is not drinkable, they must provide complimentary water. Breakfast was very ordinary, no water provided with breakfast.
If you have to stay at this hotel, make sure that you get a room facing the water and remember it is a walk to Copacabana Beach.

Dear Guest, thank you for your valuable review and for accepting your travel agent's indication for staying with us. Your reservation was in fact for a standard room which is street view and the ones facing the sea, de lux rooms, have a diference in price. The Arena Leme is situated in the best part of Copacabana beach and a few minutes walking to Copacabana main streets.

My husband and I had the greates honeymoon experience staying in this hotel. The rooms were really nice, the restaurant very good too with great breakfasts. The staff members were absolutely amazing and kind. We could definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wans to enjoy Rio to the max! :)

I travel the world and have been to multiple beautiful hotels, countries and apartments.

This trip was the first time i have not been allowed to take a friend from New Castle, UK to my room.
But instead i was greeted upon entrance to the hotel by a sickly looking receptionist gentleman who i quote said "you can not bring working girls to your room". Not only was i outraged they would judge her this way, but also my own character.
When i was to argue the fact that if i am to bring a friend to my room it should be none of their concern.
The manager who was called was even ruder. Saying my business does not matter to them and they do not care if i review them poorly or elsewhere.
It was 2pm and i wanted a jacket from my room.

This has been the most disrespectful and disgusting hospitality i have ever recieved.

Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for somewhere to book if you believe in equality and treating fellow humans with respect.

Please do not respond to this review as you did not want to talk professionally in person, you should not have the right to email. Besides equality is a two way street.

The Arena Leme Hotel, for security reasons, do not allow visitors without registering as a guest. We are sorry that the explanation of the security rules was not clear to you but in fact, we were concerning your own security.

Spent three nights with my son. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. The view was amazing. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. The location at the end of Copacabana beach was great because it was quiet and easy to access the beach, but still close to walk to everything. Would gladly return. Staff was friendly and fluent in english.
