This hotel still maintains below adequate services a year after becoming a Hilton. The first few days were fine. The TV blew one night and they fixed it immediately. You have a choice of your ac on the temp they set it at and freeze to death or just turn it off altogether (I chose the off as it was insanely cold). Rooms are adequate but nothing special. Breakfast is the only highlight of the hotel. Be advised guest registration policy is randomly enforced and even then often your guests will be required to reregister as they can't seem to get their policies straight . The policy is not on their website so good look with management that refuses to respond to issues as well. Hilton sshoul finally step in.

Hotel is facing the Copacabana beach!. We had an ocean front room. Excellent views! Only downside is the noise from the busy street, but is easily offset by the views. Hilton Honors breakfast is pretty good, but second day the scrambled eggs were cold. :(All in all, still a great hotel.

Stayed there for 1 week end of October 2018.

Room was upgraded to superior.

The Hotel is on a great location and the view from the room overlooking Copacabana Beach is fabulous.

Breakfast is very nice and of high quality.

Staff and services was high quality and the concierge was very helpful and given service.

On the downside is that it’s overpriced and outdated. Rooms/bathroom is very basic and would benefit from an interior upgrade,

Rooftop bar:pool was closed due to repairs and the bar at 4th floor is not very cozy.

I had a suite with a jacuzzi and Ocean view. However, the jacuzzi never worked. I reported this to the staff 3 times until they told me that they won't be able to fix it. The staff promised to find an alternative room and would call me. Took never place.. Using the card for the elevator was also a struggle (didn't work often). And the worse part was the internet. It was a total disaster!!! After a few days (with no working WiFi) I gave up and went to a Claro store and bough a local sim card. The location is great and was happy with the food and the social areas. The staff is very friendly but not very effecient.

We stayed here on our last night in Rio prior to flying home. I wish we hadn't. We were allocated a room next to the lift shafts, which we were not aware of until we turned in for the night. We thought we could put up with the noise as we were very tired. However we were wakened after midnight by music on a loop, which went on and on. After one call to reception followed by two visits, by first my wife then me, we were told that the music was coming from next door's alarm clock and it was finally switched off. By that stage the lift noise was also getting to us so we were moved to a different room - "a nice, quiet room" as the Receptionist put it. It was now 1:30am. Not long after, the lift noise started up again but we were too exhausted to complain and spent a sleepless night. In the morning I discovered that we had been moved farther away from the guest lifts but we're now right across from the service lifts! Either the Receptionist was ignorant of the issue or this was sabotage. Either way, it says a lot about the standard of care they afford their guests. What puzzles me is why there are such glowing reports about this hotel and very few mentions of lift noise. It is clear from the floor plan that quite a few rooms on each floor are affected by this problem.
Oh, and the rooftop pool was closed for maintenance, so no chance of a photograph of Copacabana beach.
Sorry, Hilton, I have tried hard to be loyal to your brand, but you really need to get some of your senior executives to stay the night in your hotels to see the extensive problems you have. As for me, I've had enough and will not be staying in another Hilton.
