rather new hotel, modern, clean but impersonal, of course it's well furnished, fridge, tv, wifi... but breakfast is basic, minimal... you can't expect less... staff is friendly but not really professional. the only reason to stay here is to be in Lapa.

Room tip: try to get a room on higher floors

Hello,

I really disliked this hotel.

There are few good points:

1) New hotel, or recently refurbished, so not dated, quite modern feel
2) Safe and fridge in the room are convenient
3) There are bars, restaurants, party places not far from the hotel

Negative points:

1) Breakfast is a disaster, there is nothing decent to eat, no tea, no milk, fruits too cold (tastes like being defrosted), cereals tasteless. Very small poor choice of very low quality products. Nothing tastes good there.
2) We stayed 4 days, room was never cleaned, not once, despite us making the reception aware (they provided lame excuses, like there is no our name in system etc)
3) To enter the breakfast, you need to find your name among hundreds of other names, not sorted alphabetically or by room, it took me 10 min and I still did not find my name, well, not in the system again? Obviously, member of staff did not speak any English, and i don't know how it is my problem that I am not in her list (exactly, what bloody list?)
4) Internet is working on and off, more often off. When you check in, they do not explain to you how to log in (obvious room number and name do not work, there are more sophisticated passwords, which they will give you only when you return in reception once or twice again).
5) The room is rather small (double for 2 people), but is ok if you are only staying 1-2 nights.
6) The nearest train station is 25 min walk away
7) There is no public transport from airport, you will have to take a taxi whether you like it or not. Also no public transport to Christ the Redeemer, you will need a taxi there too.
8) The cash point in the lobby charges you around 30 Real(!!!) to take the money out. Avoid.

I would not be staying there again and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. It looks ok from outside, but they have a lot of teething problems, being new, such as no steady internet and cleaning being missed for four (!!!) days.

Stayed here recently while working at the Olympics. My room was cleaned immaculately every day, breakfasts were excellent and the front desk staff were so helpful. Thanks again Fabio who sorted out a tour guide for myself and a colleague for my last day there.

Room tip: Avoid the rooms at the front of the hotel ... it gets noisy out there until about 3am and starts again at 5am.

....with a most gracious staff. Greeted with such a warm welcome and taken away to a very comfortable and modern room that was so quiet! Breakfast included which had an array of foods for every palate. Front desk met every need we had and with such friendliness. If I return to Rio, this is the place I will stay again. A true gem.

Fantastic value for money and better than the four star I stayed in in Rio. Excellent location to see the real Rio with the Arcos da Lapa and tile steps a short walk away. All the staff are very very helpful and speak excellent English.
