We loved this place. The accommodation is pretty basic, but it is clean and you have everything you need if you want to do self-catering. The service was great and the staff friendly. The hostel grounds are fun to explore with beautiful views across the mountains. Convenient for Coroico. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed in Nectar which was very pretty and secluded with a small private garden and lovely balcony catching the evening sun. Self-catered with a basic kitchen which means we didn't have to rely on the restaurant. The outdoor bathroom was also basic but worked well. The surrounding gardens and jungle are beautiful with plenty of birds and a few friendly dogs. Would recommend yoga, the pool and the hot tub.

The restaurant is averagely priced and the food is decent, and it is open all day. The staff could be a little friendlier though Dania was helpful.

Note payment is normally required in full beforehand by international bank transfer. Why they don't have PayPal or similar to make this process easy is a mystery; it took a disproportionate amount of time to find out their German account details and pay them.

Despite this, highly recommended.

I was told about Coroico and this wonderful place to stay while i was travelling through Bolivia.
My visit became one of my fondest memories of South America. The accommodation is scattered through a forested area on a hillside with small rough paths connecting each of the different chalet style accommodation units.
I woke every day to the most breathtaking unobscured views. Amazing.
Loved this place. Highly recommended.

Stayed in Mira for two nights and Bambu for two nights as well, but we did investigate the other units because we got kicked out of Mira to make room for reservations and had to choose a different room. Bambu is by far the best we saw, except possibly a higher one with large windows. The open concept cabin was not very appealing.

Overall Sol y Luna is quite nice, but value for money is not as good as some other places because nothing is free. They charge you extra for absolutely everything, so just be aware of that. Staff is fine, not friendly, but not terrible. We would have gladly stayed longer in Bambu but again had to leave to make room for reservations. Sandflies can also be bad near the dining area, be prepared.

We stayed in a light, airy double room in the main house of Sol y Luna (160 bob per night) and had a lovely, relaxing time. The grounds are spectacular and the whole layout of the hostel is amazing. There is no kitchen if you don't stay in a cabin so we ate at the restaurant which is great. Try the pepper steak! We got a taxi up with our bags for 20 bobs but happily walked in and out of town in 20 minutes each way once checked in. The facilities are clean and the staff are nice. The welcome at check in could have been more informative, we had to ask where everything was but they weren't rude. Expect little to no WiFi. Theres an extensive library so read instead! Really recommend for a few days of proper relaxation.
