We went out of Anacortes, the new (3 months old) boat was very comfortable, with plenty of views from any angle on any of the three decks. The first deck was the eating deck, the second was heated indoor seating, without outdoor seating in the front and rear, and the third deck was open air. Both the indoor areas had huge viewing windows. The seats were also very comfortable indoors. I would go in and out depending on movement and if watching the Orcas. It's also great that they have a photographer on board to capture the nature/animals so you can just sit/stand back and enjoy the views. Buy the thumb drive, 100% worth it on our tour. Our tour saw the sea lions, harbor seals, birds, a bald eagle, multiple orcas (a mom and three kids; then two different males) and minke whale. The captain and naturalist were always available to answer questions and gave great commentary throughout the cruise tour. Also the food was good, much better than we were expecting for a tour boat. I would recommend choosing Island Adventure for your nature watching experiences, comfort and customer service makes it top notch. I felt sorry looking at the other boats or pontoons on the water where people were cramped; I loved being able to walk around and enjoy.
