On our second trip to Osaka we were keen to stay at the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel as we’ve always had such fun at their hotels in Australia. We felt that it was central enough whilst also giving us a break from the hustle and bustle of the more crowded areas.

We found the hotel very easy to get to and to use as a base with a shuttle to and from Osaka Station if you don’t want to walk (maybe 10 minutes by foot). We also loved the food options both in the hotel and in the area. For us, it was location perfect with quick access to almost every part of Osaka.

We sent our luggage ahead of us from Hiroshima and it was all awaiting us in our room on arrival.

Travelling with two kids we were excited to find a room on the Club Room in a twin double with an extra roll away bed. It was large, fitting a chaise as well. The beds were comfy with the best pillows out of all the places we stayed in Japan.

The bathroom was huge with a walk in shower and bath, a large vanity space and a fantastic Japanese style toilet which the kids thought was quite a novelty,

House keeping service was discrete and thorough. It didn’t matter what time we left each day, we never saw them but our room was always made up and super clean each time we stepped back in.

We ate breakfast at Cafe in the Park and also the club room. Both offer exceptional service, good views and a large buffet as well as your choice of egg dishes. My preference, although the busiest, was Cafe on the Park as I loved the ambience.

The hotel also boasts Maison Tateru Yoshino restaurant which had a Michelin star. Next time we will give ourselves plenty of time to book in advance! There also a small cake shop on ground floor which we returned to a few times for their delicious cakes.

What I loved about the hotel was the staff
Keenness to assist with anything we needed. It was never a hassle and they always seemed delighted to help.

We will stay again!

We arrived early to Osaka and they allowed us to cloak our bags in order for us to explore the city.

The staff were friendly and had a great understanding of English.

We checked in late to find our room was great. We had lots of room and the bags we there for us. It was clean and tidy and beds were very comfortable.

We had issues with our tour for the following day. The staff called every after hours number to resolve the issue for us that wasn’t really their issue to start with. They were professional and polite and we achieved a successful outcome.

Our group would like to especially extend our thanks to “Nana” who was amazing and helped in almost every aspect of our stay. Crown plaza, she is an amazing asset in your team!

Guest Relations agreed that I had indeed been insulted. They immediately offered 10,000 points as compensation.

After leaving the points were never give to my account. Then the Guest Relations refuse to honour their promise..

Better to find a different hotel where you will be treated like a person, not like a lowlife guest... racist people

We booked this hotel for a six night holiday stay, partly due to being an IHG member but also because of reviews here and elsewhere. We had a marvelous experience , from booking right through until we left.

As a family of three with an 11 year old daughter, we booked a room with twin beds and on the Club floors, and were upgraded to a larger room (2224) which was perfect for us.

Very comfortable beds, a chaise, an armchair as well as desk chair, plus a fair amount of space, given that this is Japan, ensured we had plenty of room to spread out. The room was also very quiet, and spotlessly clean, and unlike other reviews I’ve seen, showed no signs of wear and tear. Our view was north over the city, rather than the river, but no issues with that as the views from the lounge on the 24th floor are to the south, over the river, towards the castle etc.

The bathroom has a separate room with spa tub and great, powerful shower. Separate toilet and wash basin finish off the space - once again, spotlessly clean, and with all the required amenities as well as a few bits and pieces that you only seem to see in Japan.

The Club lounge was quiet and spacious, with normal offerings such as breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails and evening snacks. The lounge manager, Yukari Tsukuda, is wonderful - very helpful, attentive and good English - as is the rest of the team up there. The only slight downside of the lounge is the evening food offering, which is a bit light on and with the hot food never being hot. A minor gripe, because I can’t imagine anyone relying on this for an evening meal, with other hotel restaurants and stacks of choice in the streets and alleyways just outside and to the north of the hotel. We tried the teppanyaki restaurant in the hotel, Dojima - excellent.

Some have mentioned that the location is not ideal. We thought we might struggle getting about as a result, but subway stations are within 5 to 10 minutes walk, the main JR station a 10 minute quick walk or hotel shuttle ride, and taxis are plentiful. We travelled all over while we there and think the location is great unless you have to be on top of a station, shopping mall or some the action.

Hotel service throughout was great, efficient, attentive and helpful. It helps if you have a smattering of Japanese - as everywhere in Japan - but not a real drawback.

Overall we loved this place, and it will be our ‘go to’ when we return to Osaka. Thoroughly recommended.

Hotel is a bit off from Umeda but hotel is providing shuttle bus service (free of charge) between hotel and Umeda until 9:15pm

Room is very spacious, newly renovated, clean and comfortable but not expensive.

We were having dinner in Umeda and only spent Yen680 = around HKD50

Highly recommended this hotel
