Room key problem

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Sept 2018via mobile
The hotel is clean and quite.that is because we did not have a room with a window with a view. That was not an issue .the rooms are small as most hotel rooms .the check in was easy and fast .they had all the information including maps .the welcome drinks were non alcoholic. The hotel is close to the subway and markets .if you want a better and cheaper breakfast nearly opposite in a cafe which sells katsudon (pork with rice) it is very nice.the biggest problem is the room key .everytimevyoh go out you have to leacmve the room key .if you want to hurry to go to family mart ; which is very close you have to leave the key .I asked them why and the front desk said " just to say hello?" The reception us on the second floor .I like this hotel , but there are ones just as good near them where you dont have to leave the key.would have gave it 4 stars but the key problem cost then a star

We were here for 6 nights. Walking distance to nikishi and to Kyoto station (important for us we were doing day trips to Osaka and Nara). Staff was awesome, always polite and helpful. Our room was very spacious and had vanity with bright lights (designers superior twin room). It was nice quiet hotel to return to after a long day out exploring. No shower curtains because it was a Japanese bath room but we managed. We were in 1007 and had a decent view!

We were very pleased with this new hotel. It is a small, modern and well-appointed. The beds were comfortable and had a very trendy bathroom suite. The breakfast options were simple and tasty. We were able to walk to restaurants nearby that were very good and the Nishiki market.

Hi, we stayed for almost a week. What a good experience! Amazing location - very close to Kyoto central station and bus stop just below the hotel (taxi about 1000¥ from station). Credit card accepted, great room: internal bath and very clean! Reception is 24h with good level of English spoken - the staff offers you also insights about local events. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for six nights and loved every minute. Our room was spacious, our towels and linen changed without asking and bottled water replenished daily. Reception and other staff very friendly, keen to please and answer questions. The breakfast area, which also served as a breakout area, was a delightful haven after a full day of sightseeing. Hotel close to many bus routes and a subway. Quite a walk to the bridge but via the subway only takes about 10 minutes. We enjoyed a wonderful experience in a homely hotel.

We had a pleasant stay for 3 nights. The hotel itself is not a fancy one, with few frills, but overall quiet and located in a fairly central area of Kyoto. The most troublesome issue has already been commented by others, which is the key drop-off rule—if you happen to forget something in your room, you’ll have to go back to reception to get the key, go back to your room, and then drop off the key again. I am pretty sure the staff knows it is an annoying rule, which is why they try to station themselves right outside the elevator doors so you can make a quick dash back into the elevator since the reception is on the 2nd floor and the entrance/exit is on the 1st. It is rather a joke that they are selling the tasseled key chain as a souvenir, since after your stay, you’ll never want to look at one of those again, let alone bring one home as a keepsake. The bed is firm and the pillows are not, so be prepared for some soreness. The free bottled water is replenished daily with housekeeping. Even though they can provide breakfast for 1000 yen if you pre-order it the night before, save yourself the dough and head across the street to Takagi for excellent morning sets. The hotel is close to Shijo and Gojo subway stations and the Hankyu line which can be accessed via a short walk to Shijo/Karasuma which is where all the action is. The reception has maps and good directions to all the sights, so make use of their expertise. The complimentary drink is NON-ALCOHOLIC only, but they will honour the value of the drink towards an alcoholic drink if you are willing to pay the difference, which is around 300 yen.
