The Four Seasons Kyoto well deserves the Kudos it has received.
From the impressive property which includes a superb contemporary tea house overlooking the gorgeous pond within an 800 year old garden to a pool destined to be the scene of the hippest James Bond film ever. I mean “Wow!” doesn’t do it justice.
Every detail of this contemporary gem has been designed to an almost absurd level of perfection. And the staff from top to bottom were friendly and accessible, extremely polished and knowledgeable. I gave the Brasserie an 8/10 for dinner but the fantastic breakfasts (included) more than made up for the tiny differential.
The room (king/balcony) was excellent. The location, a stones throw (almost literally) from the Kyoto Museum of Art and the shrine of 1000 Buddahs was perfect.
So think about ditching your tatami mats and futons and find out how the 21st Century melds seamlessly with the elegance and historical grace that is Kyoto. Book it. You will be amazed.More
