Beautiful property and great staff but...
Issues with smoking in the hotel and rooms which affected our stay. No options for food in the immediate area outside of the hotel. At times the beautiful and peaceful grounds are overrun with people taking photos, kids etc. Not as peaceful as I would have expected from such an expensive property. Wine list, like in much if China, is grossly overpriced. Hotel is quiet at night but can be noisy in the morning with the sounds of heavy doors closing, families in the hallway etc. For some reason the beds are located against the hallway wall instead of having them deeper in the room, which could have been done as the rooms are very large. If they had done that it would have been much quieter and relaxing. Overall, likely the best option in Hangzhou and a lovely property and setting but for $1000/night not sure it delivered on what we were hoping for.More
