I stayed a night at Peter I last week.
The location is good- walking distance from the Kremlin and Red Square, and under 10 mins walk from the nearest metro station.
Check in was quick and the receptionist was friendly. The porter instantly helped me with my bags without being asked which I was glad of.
My room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with all the amenities I needed and more for such a short stay. The minibar was particularly well stocked.
The lobby bar was really nice, with a live pianist in the evenings, pleasant staff and good beer.
I ordered room service and it arrived quickly and was very good.
Breakfast is particularly excellent with a great selection of hot and cold items (and it's served until 11am,so I appreciated the lie in!)
On the downside I thought the decor of my room was lacking--rather bland and IKEA style furnishings. Also check out was a nightmare. There was a very long queue, and when I finally was at the front, the receptionist insisted on sending someone to my room to check the minibar (despite having filled out the form for what I'd used). This took ages, hence the queue, and people behind were getting fed up.
So a couple of issues need to be improved to make this a true 5* property, but all in all I was pleased with my stay and I'd definitely consider staying again. More
