An imposing building, one of Moscow's Sever Sisters designed in the Stalinist style, it's an striking high rise building. There is a very grand lobby and stairs with a small bar off this area, drinks and snacks are served in the lobby and there are TV's if you love never ending sport. The lifts are fast and frequent to the 20+ floors. The higher the room, the better as the hotel has major roads running by it and Muscovites` like to honk their horns loudly! Our room was spacious and clean, It had complimentary water, coffee and tea with a pay for mini-bar. It was beginning to fade slightly with some water stained woodwork in the bathroom. It was handy for 2 major stations and a Metro line The restaurant served an excellent buffet breakfast although on the one night we ate in there it lacked atmosphere and customers and the food was lacklustre.

Fantastic hotel, reminded me the movie Dark City... Want to give kudos to Hilton for preserving so many features of the original hotel Leningradskaya, down to many small details - just lovely! Swimming pool was great and empty, staff were courteous, knowledgeable and very friendly which is rare in Moscow. Would come back here any way, loved it!

excellent time. Location is centric. Rooms are very large; view from the room is towards the 3 main train stations and the city. Facilities (sauna, pool, etc) are good. The restaurant offered an excellent menu. Bevetages and coffee are overpriced.

I have been to 65 countries , and have stayed in hotels of all categories. But , never have I had such a traumatic check-in experience , especially one where I have felt intimidated by an employee(s). To put things into perspective , it took 7 HOURS for us to get a key to our room.

Aggression & misbehaviour are the norm here , and at the front desk these qualities are personified by a certain Mr. IVAN. If you even "dare" to ask why your room isn't ready , 3 hours after waiting in the hotel ( including 2.5 hours after check-in time i.e. 2 PM ) , you are given deathly stares , have security guards "scrutinizing" you , and are humiliated in full public view. Mr. Ivan went as far as saying "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM ?? " , and when we asked him to connect us with a senior manager , HE FLATLY REFUSED. We asked him why , and he bluntly said , "THEY DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH".

Despite being "Executive Room" guests , and being curtly told by a certain Ms. Nataliya that we would be "called" for check-in , not even a soul came looking for us. Universally , such guests are checked-in within the Lounge itself , but here you need to go to the main reception and literally "plead" for your rooms to be allotted. We were told that we were being held up , as "ONE of the rooms was getting ready" , but were being repeatedly DENIED access/key to the room that was (apparently) ready , for no reason at all.

Later i.e. nearly 4 Hours after arrival , the same room that was ready became "UNAVAILABLE" and the one that was getting ready developed a "TECHNICAL FAULT" ( the lamest excuse ever was made up i.e. "water has filled up inside the room" ) . In that case , WHAT HAD WE BEEN WAITING FOR ALL THIS WHILE ??? Nevertheless , we did not succumb to their tactics to throw us to a different / lower floor , despite them being clearly aware of a family member's foot injury and the hassle that would ensue , and it just further exposed how inhumane the staff could be.

Finally , nearly 5 hours later , we managed to get the key to the room that was ready & had later become "unavailable" , and were to wait for the key to the room that had apparently been "flooded" with water. But , the ordeal did not end there. We went to the Red Square & the next door GUM store ,and came back at 7 PM , but even then we were cited the same excuse "TECHNICAL FAULT". It is then that we discovered what the fuss was all about. The room HAD STILL NOT BEEN MADE. This was probably due to an extreme shortage of housekeeping staff in this "luxury hotel" , overburdening a few of them , with rooms on the entire floor.

We finally got the key to the second room at 8 PM , i.e. 7 HOURS AFTER WE HAD ARRIVED. Just in case you were wondering, the room and bathroom were as dry as a desert.

While we did have a good experience in the Executive Lounge , and the staff present was courteous as well , I did not understand why they began "packing up" when the lounge was still open. We were there on both days at 9 PM for a cup of coffee , and they start a vigorous cleanliness drive of the tables , chairs , etc. and all you can hear are the washing/banging of plates , cutlery etc. from the kitchen.

If you're arriving on a Sapsan train , the concierge suggests walking down to the hotel from the Leningradskaya station , but BEWARE. This involves crossing two busy & WIDE roads near the hotel , and the green light for pedestrians remains on for barely 30 secs. We were literally 6 feet away from reaching the hotel , when the lights changed , and an unruly / restless driver brushed right past us , barely saved from being mowed down.

Last but not the least , this hotel caters specifically to its Russian guests. While there was not even a single doorman / porter present outside the hotel when we arrived , they did not even bother to assist us when we struggling with their ancient wooden doors , heavy luggage in tow. The security guards too would "bow down" / open doors for anybody who looked or spoke Russian , but no such courtesies were extended to us , even if you're limping your way in/out.

I would have gladly changed my hotel this time , but this isn't possible in Russia as the hotel is your "host" / "Visa sponsor" . No wonder , the hotel feels they can take anyone for a ride.

Never returning to this hotel in the future.

Checked in here as convenient for the office. Excellent hotel. One of the grandest lobby's I have ever been in. Friendly helpful staff at reception and made to feel welcome. Rooms are a good size and well appointed. Bathroom was clean and a good size with a bath and a shower as well. Bar was really good, food very good and reasonably priced. Only slight disappointment was the coffee at breakfast. Not a good coffee but the rest very good. I wil be back

Room Tip: They are all good but the higher up the less chance of traffic noise
