The actual dunes are beautiful und our guide did a decent job as far as possible for him. But as I was put in a group with a family with three little girls after asking for a bit of action and stating that I had experience in quada, the ride was more like a day trip from the retirement home. I got the chance once to go a bit faster which was fun. The rest of the time you have to go in one row and get told off when driving „too fast“.
So scenery: amazing. Guide: probably did what he could. Management / planning: really bad.

Hi,

Thank you for your review!!

We sometimes join tours and especially single riders but when we do we keep in mind the experience in riding and the adventure required, as well as introducing all the groups involved and making sure everyone is happy, so I really don't know how this came to be....

We would have liked if you could have expressed your experience with the management so we could have changed the situation.

Hopefully you can visit us again and lets us give you the opportunity to experience the quad ride in the dunes at its fullest!!

I came 3 weeks ago with some friends, it has been a terrible experience.
Firstly, a huge lack of information from the guide, no professionalism and no intention to share the passion of the quad.
Then, It's clear that this is only about business, staff doesn't pay you any attention, they just care about your money and your money.
Finally, just don't do this, keep your money and use it for all the others good things you can do in Namibia.

Hi Roger,

Thank you for the time you took to write this review, unfortunately you have a misconception of what we are about at Desert Explorers.

You are possible one of the guests on the same tour of the guests that could not follow the rules and pay attention on how to operate in the dunes.

We are a business that is always thriving to give or guests the best experience ever, by keeping the environment as a priority and by being as professional as the guests allows us to be.

The guide had no desire to transmit the passion of quad or desert, very nonchalant. The instructions given before the quad's departure are sloppy, the guide explains poorly and is not precise. In addition, at the slightest deviation from the road drawn by the guide's quad wheels, the guide removes the keys of the ignition in the middle of the quad ride and takes you back to the forced entry, without refund.

Dear Victor, it is with no surprise that I am reading your review.

As much as I would like to say that I am sorry for your bad experience I cannot express the feeling, as having you at Desert Explorers was as bad of an experience for us.

Unfortunately we are not a race track, and besides of giving our guests the best adventure possible we keep the environment as a priority.

Desert Explorers is situated in a National Park and the designated areas are there to protect the animal life, I am sorry if the environment it is not of a priority to you.

In addition to our guides briefing there is sign boards all over Desert Explorers premises with rules and regulations.

When it comes to our guides, it might have come across to you that they were lacking interest and professionalism, simply because you were not interested in listening to what they had to say. You simply wanted to do what you wanted to do and the guide had to keep stopping the tour and warning you of the rules you were breaking. Unfortunately the consequences of your actions led to your tour being stopped and you being escorted out from Desert Explorers.

Kindly refrain from visiting Desert Explorers unless you can respect what we do here!! We will also be posting pictures, so the public can see the damage caused by your reckless riding.

When you have no idea how to start your day, this place could spice it up for you. With fun and friendly staff and activities to explore. I really had a great time with my wife and this we will most definitely do again in the near future with our children. Etosh, the guide at the facility was great and he made us feel at home. Big ups to him!
