A beautiful riad, spacious and well maintained.
Perfect location, on a quiet street, close to Bab Marrakech for luggage when arriving, and a couple of minutes from the centre of the medina souks.
Short walk to the quieter end of the beach too.
The call of the muezzin wasn't a problem.
Zara's evening meal was delicious and excellent value, and daily breakfasts were a welcome start to the day. Good sized, and well equipped kitchen too.
The kiosk owner to the left of the front door very friendly, and an excellent source of sidi ali, l-hobs, beda and lahlib.
End of July/early August wasn't too hot, because of the design of the riad and the cool 'breeze' off the Atlantic. Actually, the Essaouria wind was only strong on one day out of the seven.
Essaouria continues to be very relaxed, and a great place to acclimatise to Moroccan ways if you are out of practice.More
