“felt like at home”
Reviewed 6 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Very nice place with great view of blue sea, my lungs felt rejuvenated after breathing pure and fresh air of Bella Mare ,we cooked our own food. Great coconut water and pineapple .We are missing Bella Mare very much. Ravi is a nice person and helped us though his charges a bit high. But there were lizards in our bed room which made us a bit restless. But overall a wonderful stay. Thanks Louise

Thanks you for your lovely review. We're so glad that you had a good holiday and that the notes were helpful.
Just to highlight again, as it says in the notes, there is no obligation to use our recommended driver Ravi.
Most guests find him to be competitive,at around £80 for a full days driving and if not they make a deal with him or another licensed taxi ( there are lots on the beach ) . The local non tourist taxis that you may have met can provide cheaper alternatives, but they are unlicensed for non locals and as such they are not legally able to carry tourists so are uninsured and you are unprotected should there be an incident or accident.

Re the ants, with it being a tropical country, if you spill or drop food or drink in the house it will attract ants and the odd tiny gecko. We have never had a complaint of unwelcome critters in the house in 9 years of letting the house so it isn't a problem we have encountered. However I'll look into it this week and blitz any intruders!

“Awesome location!”
Reviewed 12 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

This was a magical stay .we travelled together as a family of 8.Fresh baguettes delivered every morning and fresh coconut juice on request- thanks to Sanjay!. Ouma came in daily to clean a special and gentle lady.
The location was superb, literally a stones throw from a magnificent beach- no need to go any where except when curiosity to see the rest of this beautiful island kicks in.

“Great House and Nice Location”

The house is comfortable and spacious and right on the beach. One has to be very careful about food and crumbs because of ants, but I guess that's a generic issue on a tropical beach. The good news is there were almost no mosquitoes.
The location is right on the beach and the beach is often empty. There are a few hotels nearby and beach activities are accessible. However, it isn't easy to find a restaurant in the vicinity. Most hotels did not accept to serve us as we were not hotel residents.
Ravi, the taxi driver recommended by the owner is extremely helpful. We did not rent a car and he drove us everywhere. The cost was no less than a car rental but we had the comfort of being driven and not hassle with locating different attractions.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback.
I wanted to address the problem that you found of eating at the hotel beach bars and restaurants. Because you were there over Christmas and New Year, the very exclusive hotels are 100% full. We are usually there as a family at this time and we find that as long as you book in and don't just arrive, they are still very accommodating. Also if you look through he house notes for guests, there are many good of non hotel restaurants in the villages either side of the beach house. With very Best wishes Louise

“Wonderful home from home”
Reviewed 29 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This is a lovely family home set on the same beach as all thetop 5 star luxury hotels. It’s part of a complex of 15 houses sharing a large unheated pool with direct beach access. Louise’s home is in prime position and has the benefit of a private garden overlooking miles of gorgeous sand.
The house itself has all you need for a family holiday. 4 large bedrooms (although the top one is up a loft style ladder) and two good bathrooms. The kitchen is compact but has everything you’d need to cook there should you wish. It is a bugbear of mine in rented villas to find one dish and one pan but this was not the case, everything was there down to a smoothie maker and a garlic press.
Booking was very straightforward and Louise who lives in Britain organises it all for you. Her staff is excellent. Ravi, who oversees the house, works as a driver at the local 5star Lux hotel and also as a local councillor for his area. He is full of local knowledge and happy to advise you on days out and organise them for you. We found him to be very honest and his prices to be very reasonable. Ouma the maid, comes daily and attends to all your needs. She’ll wash up your evening or breakfast dishes and do your washing for a small supplement. Contact numbers are also left for other services. Ravi’s wife Reshma made us a couple of lovely dinners. My daughter and I had Devika over for a pamper session, again very very reasonable, and we had a brilliant morning waterskiing and tubing with Fabrice.
I would thoroughly recommend this house and am happy to answer any further questions you may have if you pm me.
