A nice hotel in the centre of Georgetown, close to the local sights and great eateries. Short walk to the famous Char Kway Teow and Assam Laksa cafe.

Large rooms and comfortable.

Good continental breakfast.

Our original booking was for 3 days. We stayed 10 days and did not want to go

We agree with the positive things said by other reviewers

The staff are all pleasant and helpful

Property is beautiful. Clean modern/colonial/tropical undertones. Lovely design

The location is excellent

Thr rooms are delightful. High ceilings, dark hardwood floors, comfy bed, delicious furnishings, loads of lights and fans. Ravishing nets over the bed, sockets all over the place and clean, new plumbing which works!!

If stairs bother you stay downstairs
If the schoolkids next door bother you grow a little tolerance
If mosquitoe bites bother you apply plenty of repellant
If lack of a restaurant after breakfast bothers you, walk 50 paces to Gala, or 65 to Georgetown Wines, or 85 to the Red Garden Food Hall or 120 paces to the excellent Jaya

We enjoyed the stay very much

Many thanks to all concerned. We will be back

Room Tip: Discuss with Reception staff. They will advise

We only stayed for one night and whilst the hotel is lovely it did not quite reach the level we had expected from the previous reviews.
Positives - the rooms are very large and beautifully furnished, nicely set out with the washrooms spraying the living and sleeping areas. Nice use of furnishings and textiles.
The grounds are nice and secluded with lovely garden seats.
The staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable.
The breakfast is fantastic, good choice and freshly prepared.
The afternoon tea is a nice touch.
Less Positives- the work is very poor
there are some paint and plaster falling off the bedroom walls
the air conditioning is not very efficient.
Whilst these negatives are not great we just felt that overall the hotel did not quite have the wow factor which we had been anticipating.

This place is truly paradise. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. All you would ever need; with eggs, fruit, yogurt, rice dishes, toast and some cereals. The staff were so sweet and accommodating. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

Friendly, attentive staff. Great location from which to explore Georgetown and beyond. Spacious rooms with relaxing, tropical atmosphere. If I'm lucky enough to return to Penang I'd definitely stay here again.
