This Nasi Kandar stall located inside Yong Suan Coffee Shop is aka “Ganja” for its addictive qualities. Expect huge queues so come close to opening time for the freshest food and although closing time is 5 pm, food often runs out before that.
It’s got better variety of meats compared to next door M. Salim. Meats are a bit tough though. It’s most distinctive feature could be the coconut spice added on top of the rice curry.

Its Nasi Ganja. Not nasi Vanggey. If you are planning to dine-in, do not wait in queue. Find a table, sit and order. Finding a table will take some time during peak hours and be ready to share table with strangers. If you would like more calm and spacious eating environment, best to pack the food. Do ask them for the red kuah & chutney. Also, if you like fried chicken, you may wanna pack an extra piece of fried chicken alone.

This address on Jalan Kalsom is the famous Nasi Ganja. It is not the same as Nasi Vanggey!!! People have confused the identity and location by posting pictures of Nasi Vanggey. Vanggey is located on Jalan Labrooy. They are about 4 km apart on different side of Ipoh Town.

Food wise, their presentations and tastes are also different.

I like NGanja curry combination but find their chicken dry. I find Vanggey’s chicken moist inside and crunchy outside. Also Vanggey is cleaner.

Service wise.
Nasi Ganja has no branches anywhere else in Malaysia. Vanggey has a few. I frequent the branch in Shah Alam. Service at NGanja poor while excellent at Vanggey.

Don't worry about the long queue. Unless if you wanna take away.. the servers are so efficient that the line will just disappear in no time! If you are having your meal at the restaurant, make your way inside and find a seat. YES, it is crowded but it's like there is unwritten rules there among the patrons that they will NOT take their own sweet time. Your wait won't take long.
