I can't understand the recent positive 5* reviews for this hotel! It was a pretty shabby place to stay and has suffered from a lack of maintenance over the years. However the owner has a pretty nice Mercedes parked in the hotel grounds - clear where the money is being spent!

Shower fitting was broken, furniture generally damaged and old and door into room not secure. Sheets and towels were clean but rest of the room was grubby. Staff were pretty rude.

Best avoid.

The Hotel offers very excellent service to offer you a home kind of stay with very spacious, quite and clean rooms. The Staff are professional and offer the best customer service to make you feel at home. The location of the Hotel is just anear town making it easy for any movements or other locations you would want to go to.The restaurant offers a variety meals to your specification and the staff will make you get your meal as ordered even better. The surrounding are very clean and quite to offer you a very nice and relaxed mood around the premises. Security is one of the best standards as you have nothing to worry about as the rooms are very secured and even come with a safe box, the stuff will surely direct you and help you for any queries you might. The Manager ( Supervisor), Customer desk and all the staff are always ready to help anytime you need something and will go an extra mile to check on just make sure everything is okay.I really enjoyed my stay and its must place to go to when you go to Livingstone as it can meet the budget.Fairmount delivered the best customer service than most places have visited,Try it and you will surely agree with me.Keep it up Guys

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are the best as the more quiter and they offer a better view of the Hotel surroundings.

I stayed at Fairmount recently and my stay was nothing short of superb. The service standards there are wonderful, from airport pick up to drop off the staff really do go out of their way to make you happy. I even got a free upgrade!! The Indian food was exceptional and the restaurant was nice and cosy. Being right in town made it v. convenient to get around and its only 10 mins from the falls. We will be back, thank you Fairmount!!

Atmospheric colonial or later-era hotel. We needed a place to chill for a week while adjusting and planning our onward travels. This turned out to be a comfortable place. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. They offer free transportation to the airport and even arranged free transportation to the border so we could make a connection. Very good restaurant on premises so we ate there regularly. Excellent location in downtown Livingstone so we could walk around instead of being stuck at a remote location. WiFi was generally good though system was clunky, requiring constant re-logins. Not much to do in Livingstone, but it offers more than Vic Falls Town.

Room Tip: You want to be in a room NOT facing the main street.

Excellent choice of budget accommodation in Livingstone.

The property is an older property, and has the issues that come with that - things are a bit worn, the water takes a few minutes to heat up, etc. However, the entire place is kept very clean and orderly.

The restaurant is decent, with a nice selection of local, Indian, and Western options. Mr. Milton will take good care of you. Ask him for the apple crumble, you won't be disappointed.

The front desk staff are also fantastic.

Ms. Moono & Ms. Mercy always have a smile and are ready to help with anything. They saved me quite a bit of money in taxi fares by advising how to use the shared taxi for 1/10th of the cost of a regular taxi.

Mr. Lifasi knows everything and will provide you excellent advice on where to go, what to do, even what to dip your nshima in.

The wifi can get slow depending on the weather and on how many people show up for the conferences that the hotel hosts, but it usually speeds up again in the evening.

The location is quite good. On the north edge of the CBD, it is a 30 second walk to the Mukuni Park curio market, and a <5 minute walk from the rest of the downtown area including all the banks, stores, and restaurants. You can get a shared taxi to the Falls and/or Zim border for about $1USD/person.

Planned to stay a couple of nights. Stayed for two weeks. If you don't need fast wifi and are OK with some of the foibles that come with older properties, it's tough to beat this place, especially for the price and overall service.
