The Zambezi is an amazing river. We loved our time on this river. It is just a beautiful area. The sunset was especially beautiful. We were there in September, so most of the water was going over the falls on the Zambabwe side. It was amazing. It was a trip of a lifetime. We are thrilled that we got to do this.

Probably more impressive in the wet season but it was still quite an amazing natural wonder to see!! If you are anywhere close, needless to say you have to visit. The price from Zimbabwean side is $30 per person which I found outrageous but oh well. Probably cheaper from Zambian side but you can't really see any water falling in the dry season.

A beautiful place to visit but sadly the dry wet season has left the Zambian side of the falls without water. October is not the best time to visit if you want to see rushing water. However it was really interesting to see the rock faces of the gorge which would otherwise have been submerged. We took a helicopter flight which was extremely worthwhile as we saw from both Zambia and Zimbabwe. Additionally we had purchased a double entry visa into Zambia so took the opportunity to go into Zimbabwe (another visa required) to see the falls with plenty of water.
Note: the lack of water in Zambia and therefore the lack of tourists has really effected the local communities. The stall holders are super keen to sell something but they are not aggressive. If you have a heart buy something and help the local villagers.

I recently visited Victoria Falls on the Zambia side, both by walking tour (including Boiling Pot, Knifes Bridge and to Devils Pool) and by helicopter. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend anyone to visit Zambia in the low season (to be able to enjoy the falls from all aspects without getting wet) and visit the falls by various means! Happy travels!
