Be sure to experience the Falls from both the Zimbabwe side and the Zambian side, as they offer incredibly unique perspectives. If you're on the Zimbabwe side, you get a large landscape view of the falls and a nice walk on top of the ridge in front of them; it's definitely the better side for photographs. From Zambia, you can actually go down to the river as well as get closer to the top of the falls via the walking bridge or Angel's and Devil's pool (if you have the stomach for them). Whatever you do, don't miss out on the various angles of this amazing natural wonder.

The opportunity to go up in a micro light over the Falls was thrilling. The view was spectacular. I saw rainbows in the mist. Saw elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest and hippos from above. 15 minutes was too short.

The Smoke That Thunders is the local name, and even though it was at low flow, the thunder was still there. At low flow the Zimbabwe side is better, but to be able to see the rock formations and the full gorge.

Oddly, the best time to visit is when the water flow is low- you get to see the geography which is concealed by mist when they are going full bore. View from helicopter is amazing, too.

If you have gone to see the Victoria falls do so from both sides Zimbabwe where the larger part of the falls can be seen as well as Zambia where you can get closet to the falls.

On the Zambia side there is a foot bridge "Knife Edge Bridge" across the Zambezi river which gets you closest to the falls and quite wet because of the spray. The falls at this side are also referred to as rainbow falls as there are multiple rainbows formed at different places due to the spray and sun.
