We chose the Kilim in Fethiye as a change from staying in the beach resort of Ölü Deniz. Upon arrival at the accommodation, it was rather a surprise to find the reception and hotel building undergoing refurbishment; however, although there was no hotel room yet available for us, we were instead, given an apartment in an older block, so were pleased to now have unexpected kitchen facilities, 2 balconies and plenty of space. Although not modern and also in need of refurbishment, it was pretty clean, the shower was hot and the bed was very comfortable. Our booking included Turkish breakfast, and it arrived promptly on a tray to our room every morning at the time agreed. Fresh, delicious and most adequate. The management were most helpful in meeting our needs, despite the building work that was in progress. At our time of departure, the refurbishment of the main building and reception was in its final stages and looking extremely welcoming. We viewed one of the modernised hotel rooms which appeared fresh and had a gorgeous new bathroom. One of the large, clean swimming pools was open and looked very inviting; the other pool was just having its re-tiling completed. The accommodation location is only 1 block away from the waterside and close to amenities. Local buses are nearby to take you into the town, or you can have a pleasant walk along the promenade by the water.

In summary, the work that was in progress in preparation for the official start of the season in May really did not bother us. In April, it was fairly quiet and extremely relaxing.
Barış, his staff and family are very pleasant and easy going and happy to answer questions and address any needs. We would have no hesitation in returning to the Kilim in future, as it gave us the best of two worlds: the services of a hotel and the independence and freedom to explore this beautiful working Turkish town, its many eating and drinking establishments and surrounding areas.More
