We arrived late on Thursday night, first impressions were outstanding. The views were breathtaking and the villa was impressive. The villa is very high up in the hills which we were not expecting (as we checked beforehand and were advised it was a 5 minute walk from the town) it most certainly isn't a 5 minute walk and there are no shops nearby. The driver did bring us some supplies which we were grateful for (water, a small pack of crisps, biscuits, 3 sachets of coffee, milk and some juice). We had to set up one of the beds as it wasn't prepared ready for us. Although there wasn't enough pillows, on the third day two further pillows were supplied after asking numerous times. The next morning the rep arrived Ismail - thankfully two out of seven of us had been to Kalkan before as he provided no useful information on the area. So if we hadn't been before we'd be pretty lost. We noticed that the one bathroom was leaking and did inform him of that before it became a huge problem. The tile on the step in the one bathroom was damaged and luckily we noticed otherwise someone could of hurt themselves. We notified Mehmet and from his reaction he made out as if this was something we had purposely done. When we went to use the shower that morning we soon discovered we had no water, there's no phone at the villa so luckily we brought our mobiles to call Ismail, the no water situation was an ongoing issue, we were unable to shower on the first evening and had to go to dinner without being able to have a proper wash, due to them not rushing to fix the issue. This was an ongoing issue throughout our 11 day stay - we had to call them at least twice a day to come and provide us with running water. (God help our phone bill) Out of the 11 days we had 1 full day without any issues - so a full day of water, but it wasn't hot! After numerous phone calls, Ismail finally came over on the Monday and was extremely rude - no help what so ever. He did suggest moving us to another villa and took my uncle down to view it, the villa was facing a main road and was no where near the standard of what we paid for. He refused to bring my uncle back to the villa and made him walk up hill in the boiling hot heat. Just as we were getting ready to go out for dinner Thursday evening surprise surprise the water stopped again, Mehmet who claims to be the manager came to the villa was extremely rude to us (has no respect for women as when my uncle came down to speak to him his attitude completely changed) he called us liars, made out we were making a big deal as water isn't important and he also claimed he is also on holiday. The pool was filthy and when we confronted them they stated it was due to our sun creams (when in reality the pump had stopped working.) We notified them on the first day of the flood in the one bathroom (which we were unable to use) my grandfather fell twice, I also slipped in the bedroom as the water was seeping through (and I'm pregnant). Luckily we made the best of our holiday and really enjoyed Kalkan, there are some fabulous restaurants and the people are lovely. We used a regular taxi service - Ali Taxi who was spot on. Although the people who run the villa are in the wrong job as have no customer service skills. The funniest thing was on our final day Mehmet had the cheek to ask us if we were leaving some of our spirits. At one point he suggested we bath in the pool water.
