Many interesting shops and restaurants. You can walk in plaza to buy many things. However this central close at 9 pm every day which is too early for Fri and Sat.

There are relatively few foreigners living in Rayong, so the target market is mainly middle-class Thais (the website and FB page are only in Thai). As mentioned under "Passione Shopping destination, Rayong", Central Plaza is the newer option for mall shoppers, making a grand total of two big malls in the city. Being part of the nationwide Central Group of malls, it follows a familiar formula, although has fewer outlets than in bigger cities; the 'usual predictable suspects' re clothing, food, electronics, sport, etc. are present. It is clean, spacious and well air-conditioned. Sadly for me, there is no bookshop selling English books (Asia Books once had an outlet in Passione under that mall's former name, Laemtong, but it closed due to lack of trade) - a reflection on the local customer base. The food supermarket has a range of imported goods, my main reason for visiting. For a more rewarding shopping experience (plus other attractions), locals and expats still go to Pattaya in Chonburi province.

The place is very good to relax and shopping. But there is no halal food available like the others Central shopping center in Bkk or Chiangmai.

Central Plaza Rayong has all the usual array of restaurant chains common in Thailand, KFC, MK, The Pizza, Black Canyon, Chesters, Fuji and more.

But it also has its own FoodPark, which offers an interesting and cheaper option for lunch or dinner.

There are about ten stalls in FoodPark offering mainly Thai food. These include various Thai curries and wet dishes, noodle soups, and the famous Thai salads, som tam and tam tua. The first is made from green papaya and the second from bruised snake beans and tomatoes. Both are very spicy, and high on the chilis.

Everything is spotlessly clean in FoodPark and the dishes are attractively displayed.

The system is you purchase a credit card with stored value and use this for any food or drinks you buy in FoodPark. Most dishes are from 30 to 50 baht and drinks are from 10 to 30 baht, so a 100 Baht card is usually more than enough for one person.

You can redeem the balance at the cashier's desk on your way out.

This shopping mall is huge, but has barely any shops (that are useful). I would not advice going here if you are looking to buy clothing, food or other essentials. It is not worth the drive.
