While one can choose your fish or seafood live and take it across the way to be cooked, the squalor and filth just adjacent to the market is a little overwhelming.

The first time we came in the evening the market was full of Chinese tourists. My partner got all stressed out with the push and loud voice of bargaining. He just grabbed a fish and wanted to get out of the crowd. I continued shopping and got some prawns and small calamari.
A man from a restaurant opposite the street took his fish and offered cooking. Too lazy to check out other restaurant, we just followed him. Prawn with tamarind sauce was superb. Deep fried calamari with garlic was also crispy and good. We went back the second time.
Just take it as a part of fun, jostling with the chinese.

We took the seafood market as we were before to a similar one in Patong, where we have been very satisfied. Here is a little bit different, as you buy the food (raw and fresh food) and you can cook it across the street in many places. You will pay 100 baht/kg for cooking, where you can choose between different types bbq, fried or steamed cooking. The food is not the cheapest but you can negotiate it with the locals that are selling, also don't take into consideration the prices that are written because as soon as you approach one guy the prices are starting from almost the half of the one displayed.

We love noodles so we took also one or two noodles, you can take them from where you cook your seafood, for 100 baht and the drinks, we had soda for 30 baht.

If you are around it is really indicated for you to go there and try this fresh food.

Doesn’t get better than this. We bought fresh Seabas and prawns at really reasonable price. The restaurant across the court cooks it in Chinese or a Thai style to suit your taste. We had fish grilled Thai style and the prawns in Chinese garlic pepper. Also tried a superb green curry. Worth the trip. Great service and wonderful chat in English with Kun the manager.

Well I would say they offer cheap and good seafood. Price is great. I forgotten which shop i went to but generslly they seems the same which offers cooking services. My opinion will be get the resturant which offers the sea view. What else can you ask for with great seafood dinner and a nice view.
