This place is a real jewel - Don't be too worried as you approach the location as it looks unaccustomed to Europeans - this accommodation great ( with everything functioning),generally quiet and relaxing, the pool very clean, the location convenient to get to Rawai Beach for grocery shopping and the fresh fish market and to the lovely Yanui & Naihan Beaches ( all with the courtesy transport ) . What makes this a home from home are the people who run it - always smiling, always willing to help - nothing seems to be too much for them. Jittra and Bouw do an outstanding job! We were only 1 week there - love it and have booked another week in Sept when we return from Europe.

The owners, Ken & Tip, and their properties have already won multiple rave reviews so I won't repeat the same points. Just some details and tips to fellow travellers.

1. The refrigerator & pantry were stocked with complimentary bread, milk, butter, jam, cornflakes, drinks etc. on our arrival. As we arrived after 7pm, when it was getting dark, we really appreciated this consideration the next morning prior to us getting our rental car.

2. Ken and Tip very graciously upgraded us to another of their Coconut villas located just across the road, with its own private pool, at no extra cost to us, after 2 nights at this villa because there was some construction work going on at another of their nearby villas and they didn't want the noise from the construction to disturb us during our holidays.

Now how's that for hospitality?

Would have rated this property 5 stars if not for a couple of minor flaws:

1. The fly screens to the main door really need to have their rollers replaced. Struggling to open and close them was most frustrating, especially as there was quite a fair bit of mosquitoes on Phuket
2. The lock to the main door probably also needs to be lubricated/changed. It was very difficult to close and lock it from inside the villa, although no such difficulty was encountered when locking / opening from outside, with the key
3. The porch / external spot lights to the back of the villa seem to be triggered by motion sensors and there doesn't seem to be any way to turn these lights off. Every now and then, some movement from cats / leaves of trees seem to turn these lights on. Despite very thick curtains, they light up the bedrooms considerably when they come on and this kept my kids up for quite a while until we settled on using sleeping masks for them.

Notes to other travellers:
1. Having your own rental vehicle is mandatory if you're keen to stay here. The nearest street with restaurants and convenience store is about 10 to 15 minutes walk away.
2. Rawai is a very quiet and relaxing place. You'll be hard pressed to find a souvenir shop in Rawai! Yet it's very well located, being very near Promptepe cape, lovely Nai Harn beach, Sea gypsea village etc.
3. If you come out from the gates of the property, follow the small alley for about 50 meters and you will come to a T junction. Turn left, towards North, about 20 meters, you'll come to Coconut Paradise Villas with private pools. Walk another 100 meters or so and you'll come to a street vendor that does very nice fried banana fritters. Walk another 400 meters or so and you'll come to the main street. The not to be missed German Bakery and the recommended P&D car rentals are about 150 meters to your right, opposite the very prominant Crepe stall.
4. If you turn right at the first T junction after coming out from your villa, heading South toward Rawai beach, after about 200 meters, you'll see a smiley woman selling pork satay - slivers of marinated pork on bamboo skewers cooked over charcoal fire. At 5 Baht per satay, her's was the best and cheapest satay we've ever tasted, and this is coming from a Singaporean, where satays are almost a staple. I think we bought from her like 5 out of 7 mornings we were there. She starts selling at about 6:30am and there's usually quite a few locals buying from her at any one time.
5. Along Rawai beach road, opposite Nikita's, there's a restaurant called Tahaloy. Order the food there and have it al fresco under the trees along the beach road. It serves probably the cheapest fried rice on Phuket - 45 Baht for a plate.
6. Have dinner at the restaurant at Cape Promptepe. View is fantastic and price is unbelievably low for a restaurant at such a prime location. Make sure you park your car under a street lamp at Cape Promptepe - it's a virtual ghost town after 8pm.

This was our first trip to Thailand, and my wife found this villa after searching long and hard on the internet. We were convinced by other reviews, photos, and frankly, the price. And we were not disappointed! The booking was quite easy online as paypal was accepted. The villa owner arranged pickup for us at the Phuket airport, and our driver was waiting with a sign. No issue there...and off we went down to Rawai. The drive is about 45 minutes door to door.

As we approached the villa, I must say we were a bit concerned. The units are located in the beach community of Rawai in the middle of a local neighborhood. Some of the surrounding homes were a bit aged, but the villas themselves are like a little oasis in paradise. They are modern, beautifully landscaped, clean, and have a lovely, intimate pool area. Ours was stocked with some basics such as bread, coffee, juices, snacks, soaps, and nice, cold Thai beer (thank you Ken). The staff greeted us at the unit, helped with our bags, and got us quickly settled.

Inside the unit was a full kitchen with gas stove, microwave, and all the essential cookware. We ate out just about every day (more on that in a minute) but the kitchen was welcomed as we have small children (5 and 6 years old) that prefer simple things like pasta and rice which we cooked nightly. Each bedroom was also air conditioned which made sleeping quite comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. Outside the unit was a quaint patio facing the pool area. We sat there in the evenings sipping beer while our kids played in the pool. Very relaxing.

The owners also provided a great folder filled with a restaurant menu, day trip ideas, and local contact numbers. We ordered from their restaurant (Coconut Paradise) every night (8 times total). We tried every Thai dish on that menu. The food is promptly delivered, it's hot, and absolutely delicious. Best part is that we would order appetizers, two entrees, a few beers, and this usually came to about $35 USD. It was an amazing value - money goes a long way in Thailand.

We also rented a car from the folks recommended by the villa owner. I was a bit skeptical with the transaction as it was very informal and only $30 USD per day. However, we received a new Toyota, had no issues with the vehicle, and our refund was promptly returned. In fact, the car rental manager showed us around Rawai for a couple of hours on our first day. This was so helpful.

We also took the day trip to Bon Island as recommended by the owner and had a delicious Thai lunch on the beach. We rented a speed boat to take us over - again using the owner recommendation. It was a great experience. However, get out there early as the larger tour companies start bringing in the tourists by the dozens around 1 p.m. It starts to feel congested quickly.

The best part of our trip was our daily outing to Nai Harn beach. It's a 5 minute drive and has a small area dug out for kids where the natural tide refreshes a 2 foot pool of sea water daily. We sat in the beach chairs provided for the day ($5 USD), drank some Thai beers ($2 USD each) and played with our children in the sand and water. Around noon, we drove over to Nikita's - a great local restaurant on Rawai beach. We typically ordered Thai food and thin pizza's for the kids. We also visited the Sea Shell museum, and hit some local stores for Thai "antiques" in the afternoon.

Overall, this was a great trip. We highly recommend these villas and will return early next year.
